  1. yes https://www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/knight-g2-surface-contact-with-tact-tamper-and-selectable-res-p-3868.html
  2. thats not correct there is a bs std now for cable, en does not have a cable std
  3. its improved on resource demand
  4. iirc the d75 replaced the yend units
  5. Has someone recently enabled 4g in your area plus are you running a 433MHz or 868. Not sure if the 500r was available with different freq?
  6. id of thought v1 as the domonial uses the older protocol that the galaxy now uses
  7. the reason for tapping the contact on the door is as reeds age they can stick in closed position. Shows you have a failing door contact.
  8. Is it alarming on all devices, ie pa 1,2,3 and 4. Plus you say etc, are there more things displayed? If its alarming on everything then id be suspecting the panel is at fault. If it was just one device then id be looking at that device
  9. spend your money on other things then wish you had spent it on security after you got done
  10. id disagree you run any cable close then voltage will be induced, screening it will dump that induced voltage to earth before it can induce into the cores. Twisted pair using a balanced signal allows for induced noise to be mitigated and in effect ignored, does not mean it isnt there. Agree on working voltage but not sure if 7kv would be ok on t&e ie 2kv ac will arc at about 1.5mm in air
  11. they are double insulated but is for mechanical protection not for em protection, need screened or swa etc for that. Plus the insulation on alarm cable is rated for selv not lv
  12. clam using unofficial plugins
  13. 1, yes it has 8 hard wired circuits 2, dont know dont know it well 3, ideally you need to keep at least 6" away from power cable, this is mainly for safety as alarm cable is rated at 50v not 600v 4, for diy id recommend the texecom as they will support you, some equipement is limited to professionals only so you cant buy it anyway 5, yes
  14. Ish, I'd prefer something other than clam for the Av side. It's ok but needs a lot of tweaking. But as its free I can't moan. I find the unofficial clam lists more use to be honest
  15. a firewall wont. Id need to setup danguardian for that which is what i use at work. But can block some usefull stuff too. I use whitelists for websites to allow downloads etc
  16. C6 the mods have my full support id suggest you accept the advice
  17. technical advise and comment is fine. I wont have a little game going on. All should stick to posting comment and opinion not little battles. I welcome all. I also wont get involved in your legal type comments. Look its a forum, people make comments, make their view and maybe have a bit of banter along the way. Maybe a line drawn and we all continue as we all want?
  18. yet c6 you say you want to listen to advice from others that know? sorry i know thats answering a question with one
  19. Charlie not in other threads, if you want to discuss it keep it to one thread. Its not optional
  20. Get trade status and look at the siemens manual. Its the most flexible power intruder panel ive ever seen
  21. ok, if you 2 want to continue this start a new thread and do it there. If mentioned anywhere else it will be dropped. its neon all over again, please stop
  22. I would never advise a company that is willing to support loads of different manufactures. No one can train all engineers etc upto a specialist level on more than about 5 manufacturers imo. Jack of all trades master of none springs to mind My recommendation for a pro install with apps would be siemens or hkc. plus the risco pir cams need the lights to be left on to work at night
