  1. Does the rest of the bell function
  2. what are you controlling. i prefer an app rather than sending obscure text message strings. ie my hkc panel runs my heating and external lighting via its app.
  3. what is the time it has to last? also what if fixing to wood, does it define that?
  4. if you want flexibility like that you dont want an accenta and a text dialler, you want a big panel and a gsm unit. ie the siemens spc panel. plus you can use apps on your phone to control, view status etc.
  5. yep they just stop working. Another member here has huge issues with it just failing and not giving an early warning its about to
  6. Id avoid pyronix but that's my personal view. When in charge of product used I refuse to use a pyronix product cos as an engineer I had to remove so many due to issues
  7. Cant wait for the 'green for go' display
  8. dont forget to re-enable the circuit when you do only at g3
  9. you have amazing eyes ive zoomed in too and cant see any writing
  10. And new 6662 is what 2017?
  11. You know product std Ade i tend to avoid comment on that as a rule. Ed means its close to publish?
  12. Ade i have seen the 'new' beam std. I tend to avoid comment on manufacturer stuff but what are the differences?
  13. lol yeah i know that but i did make it to replacing the existing menvier for a 1070 at mine. If it had been a gal i probably wouldnt of replaced it. We are **** with our own stuff. I still have the cct that was fitted in the mid 90's at work even though we havnt used it new for over 15 yrs
  14. when you ripping it out of your place then?
  15. no reason not to use plastic for shutter contacts from a reg view. You may choose not to use them but no reason they cant meet the requirement. afaik material used in manufacture is down to the manufacturer. However we currently allow (as we always did under 4737) self certification and any installer relies on the fact that the device they are using is actually compliant to the reg. Now i 'could' as sw self certificate a device as any grade. But... approved installers are the ones issuing the final certificate. That means the installer is responsible to ensure that a device meets that grade. With 3rd party certification from those that do you have proof you have passed that responsibility onto the test house. Anyone that uses non 3rd party tested equipment is taking the compliance test on themselves. Can any of us test it actually meets the component standard it claims reagrdless of the bit of kit?
  16. it would id agree.
  17. Rich which ones model number wise?
  18. but not in day mode. you cant get a graded shunt lock afaik, but you dont need one as there is no en for shunt locks so its old regs. We must bear in mind that the uk is different to europe in what we do. ie grade 2x which is uk only, which will change to 2f (i think on the new table 10) to add it to en not making it a 6662 thing. Same with the grade 1t that has been added into the new proposed table 10.
  19. self cert is something i personally hate but im not meaning that.
  20. iirc beams at still under bs not en yet under pd. The argument is a g3 device needs rear tamper and i dont know of one with a back tamper. Ade is better on regs in his head than me, id need to look at current pd
  21. you cant have devices outside the perimeter. Also i insist on bolts as self tapping fitting over the years work loose and come off. Bolts show damage etc and hold on longer You could do this but you cant have it as part of the confirm process
