  5. How you backing everything up?
  6. im still on 3cx on one of the virtual win7 machines you using something asterisk based?
  7. Will be using this for groupware as i upgrade to sme 9 on the servers. Most are currently 8.1 http://www.sogo.nu/
  8. We have migrated away from windows completely now. Was running an sbs server. Current setup. Office. 1 x Core i7 Based Ubuntu server running 4 drive raid 10 (2tb barracuda's) and 8 GB ram 1 x Core i7 Based Ubuntu server running 6 drive raid 10 (2tb barracuda's) and 12 Gb ram 1 x core i3 based sme server with 2 drive raid 1 (2tb barracuda's) and 8 Gb ram (local usb nightly backup) All 64 bit Virtualised on the ubuntu lts machines are 4 x win7 desktops (for remote working use) 2 x SME dedicated backup servers backing up TSI, SW and SIA servers) 1 x SW Mail server 10 x Desktops and Laptops (win7/ 8.1 (apart from 1 xp machine) Offsite 1 1 x Intel atom based sme server (2gb and 2 TB) dedicated to backing up as above Offsite 2 1 x HP Microserver running sme dedicated to backup Offsite 3 Dual Xeon, 9 drive raid 6( 1 x hot spare) 1 tb es.2 seagate drives running vm's on SME. Runs TSI and various dedicated backup sme servers backing up all SME servers in production We run sage, ccrs (our sia db), swoc (the sw equiv) and use thunderbird for email. Have full non auto failover recovery and no ms licence fees. Hardware isnt cheap (But all desktop gear but 2 servers) but all i have no is desktop licence fees. All mail is virus scanned, all files are scanned nightly, all web traffic is virus scanned and guarded. All traffic for remote users is via vpn All backup servers use rsync and incremental backup so traffic is light and can restore a server to anytime over the last 2 years. Most servers are backed up nightly but some (tsi and sw) are 6 times a day. Link to the linux server that runs our domains http://wiki.contribs.org/Main_Page and ubuntu lts as i cant do raid 10 on SME and the multiple vm's need the write speed of raid 10
  9. ok you cant get some gear without training etc. you wont get that. look at texecom or pyronix for diy use
  10. You looking for a professional installed system? If so id recommend the hkc hybrid 1070. You can have a wireless keypad, keyfobs or app control

  15. I had a load of wd drives fail a few years ago. I used to like Hitachi but have used Seagate for some years now.
  16. I use Seagate for all, slightly concerned lol, I'll have to replace the tsi drives
  17. thats iphone ipad etc not mac pc?
  18. same site direct comparison of enterprise vs consumer drives https://www.backblaze.com/blog/enterprise-drive-reliability/
  19. I always thought they were pretty much all the same apart from maybe firmware. Imagine the production line using different components across all the sizes just for wd? then there are the re drives and the sas drives on top of that!
  20. My own view is to use consumer drives (low power ones) in dvr's but some prefer enterprise or prosumer nas type drives. I have always run desktop drives in my own servers and have never seen the need for enterprise drives but here is an interesting blog from a datacentre some of you may be interested in https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-update-september-2014/
  21. No, only manufacturer I know that supports mac fully is dm. Our dvr works via safari the same as active x on a pc but no standalone software

  24. Is it just me that thinks pro has dropped more than I thought. Yale and any 1 way wireless system is poor. Has to be 2 way.
