  1. Thats a good shout re movement of the key, regarding faraday just put them in the microwave, off obviously If your car gets nicked you badly need a new microwave!
  2. Im sure many of your clients have had this happen to them, how do you lot advise against it, do you drive a keyless car etc? Mine isnt keyless and i wouldnt want one but i get the convenience of it. However im still astounded new cars are sold with the same tech that allows relay or easy key cloning.
  3. agreed its an awful option and should never be used If its wired use a dt, if rf use the hkc dt or better still dont use space protection in a shed
  4. as you have found yes you can change the ee to alarm on part det like you can have access etc when full set
  5. No it doesn't have any inputs for that. Just upgrade to a panel with app support Plus it shouldn't be randomly activating fix that first imo
  6. id use active beams for scaffolding. you can get wireless ones then use an rf door contact with inputs to get it to the galaxy. I dont use galaxy rf but i think you need an rf portal now not an rf rio. But im not 100%
  7. agreed but if its in short, putting it across a battery with no fuse will spark a lot...
  8. via a fuse... If your disconnecting the sounder and it showing 12v in alarm then you either have a knackered sounder or cable issue. Have you metered the cable?
  9. The days of dial tone meaning delivery are long gone Imo everyone needs a polled service. Even ring polls ffs and who would use / trust that here. I'd be amased on the trade side if anyone was using this sort of thing for family friends etc
  10. I use a hkc control panel and it's rf stuff Then my ha platform is home assistant. I then link my alarm to my ha with an esp 32 module, flashed with esp home
  11. I change all batteries every 2 years. Panasonic or duracell meaningless see attached graph showing discharge curve. They run then once they start to drop are dead within 1 - 2 weeks see above Yes, as you say the device should poll every x seconds or minutes (depends on brand) some stuff can be hours! Once it hasnt recieved them over period x then the panel reports supervision failure
  12. Boiler control next but that's brobably already done
  13. I pretty much have that setup Wired movement sensors in every room (including upstairs), these are used as room presense sensors for the home automation. All external doors have wired door contacts All windows have wireless shock sensors External sensors and doors trigger security lights and in alarm Im using HKC detection and controls. Linked to home assistant via output I/F and esp32 I do not allow my HA to disarm my alarm etc. CCTV is cabled and uses frigate (currently) for person / object detection. Use cat 5 to every camera location but take advice on locations as most diyer fit them too high. Use alarm cable to every alarm component. Your going to need an expandable panel and at least 1 additional psu.
  14. if that fuse is only feeding the keypad then yes. But id suspect its also feeding other things. It will be one of those devices. Id go with device rather than cable but as mr h says it could be a staple, nail etc penetrating the cable somewhere
  15. You need to disconnect something or run it on its own fuse to diagnose which bit of kit is blowing the fuse
  16. i dont know what it is but just saying it isnt, without saying what it is isnt the best
  17. not anymore its something else. No 9800 keeps sounding with no power. But its 25 ish yr old so its more likely to be the old alarm vs the past it 10 yr old smoke/co2 etc detector
  18. And are the cameras happy dual streaming. Is the stream exactly the same to both nvrs
  19. as its a 2 yr old + plus topic id create a new one based on your circumstances
  20. I sort of agree, any tone does the job if it doesn't it doesn't matter how loud etc however I have internal and 2 external (front and side)
