  1. Mobile operators and isp change things all the time
  2. It always astounds me how people think the security industry doesn't know anything. Many want the bells to show armed status etc without think its a green light for non green light people However the next non approved or meeting any EN or BS product will be the best thing ever, till a ring doorbell is nicked
  3. as opposed to showing the world it isnt set?
  4. as long as its connected to strobe neg in the bell then yes.
  5. as i said its a strobe +, not a strobe - hopefully it hasnt damaged your bell Strobe + is an additional permanent + on the days of way back when strobes were a seperate device not all built into a modern sounder
  6. one will be strobe pos and the other the switched strobe neg or trigger. They arnt 2 triggered outputs
  7. Is that a 485 bell, as in data comms? Dont use it myself I'd assume Sab tamper issue
  8. They have done well on the influence, sorry influencer. It gets specced I'd assume few of us here use it on own home.
  9. If its not graded it can't be done. What is it?
  10. 6wb some apps do push only but some manufacturers do apps that call from the cloud. Some are polled (upto DP2). Depends on the features paid for. I have dual path monitoring via my app via the ARC. Agreed that relying on push only isnt best for anything
  11. Id also add bear in mind you want to look at dual path app (and polling rates) as wifi only makes you totally dependant upon the router and isp. (ie mains fail or mains fail caused by intruders) This mains fail thing will become more common as many are using low end ring etc devices that need the 'cloud' to function. At least an intruder alarm will still work even if your broadband isnt available for whatever reason. ANd apps and notificaitions are great for upgrading diallers but not a replacement for 'monitoring' Check the app can wake you and others and has other options like sms for non app users. If your the only one and your phones on silent, in the car etc.
  12. As others have said how much would you prioritise something that you do for free. Texecom is not a bad system but they make a huge range of equipment at various levels. Its not my brand of choice but many installers do like the texecom. I do think the premier is a powerful and flexible panel though.
  13. Could be bell cable or panel When was it last serviced and which accenta do you have
  14. Agreed showing age >v1. 6 castle 2000 or galaxy classic without the v4-to 4.06 issues. Stability wise its only hkc since I did play with a 2500 TS between that and the Gal would of been a dream panel, I know the TS team moved to tex to create the Premier
  15. Agreed your the texecom expert on radio I've only supported issues on it. From what you say it's always an installation issue. I can add my bit from support. It will be brief New visonic is less troublesome than the previous, risco is popular but similar, pyronix is more on numbers but at least its 2 way ish, scanny (Eaton) is 1 way and is low on issues. Daitem is low too. There will be a day when stats like this are published.
  16. I'd agree 1 way is tat and similar to the DIY stuff available now but scanny 4 stuff was pretty reliable. That was 20 yrs ago though I wouldn't trust it now. I had a tech conversation today about signalling. We used to think 50v pstn and an fsi guaranteed an alarm delivery, we now expect polling and testing the alarm delivery path. Rf is no different if you don't poll you have no idea what might ish be delivered if ever.
  17. If I have to say best for range modified scantronic 46xx. Got a good 2km on test. Latest stuff I'm going hkc for range and little hassle, I'm sure Adrians texecom stuff would do well too as 3 way mesh though
  18. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-56082354 Please make sure you don't think "it works that will do' Its saved me a bit what's the worst that can happen?
  19. the only panel i know of that does that is the hkc. Can you link the user number to prevent use?
  20. Have you metered the trigger? You 100% it was working before reprogramming ie did you test it before you started. If you did you must of programmed something else
  21. Coming soon when do you think that is? Apart from not yet?
  22. have you added it as a user or you looking at the engineer options?
  23. As above some people want an 'upgrade' but if you have wires you should definitely use them. There is no way your cpx keypad is connected to your enforcer rf system
  24. for info vids on youtube on how to defeat diy type alarms easily I believe this is a yale simplisafe
