  1. Agreed I know we talk about cost etc but ive just spent £220 on having a plumber tell me my soak away is knackered. There was 2 of em for 2 hours and a jetting machine
  2. I'm afraid ID is long dead. Castle, risco and texecom had modules but the biscuits are long obsolete. Like coal for a gas fire
  3. Thanks for the follow up, as few of us would disable the option it's not something we would know without referring to the manual. Though it was * turns out to be #
  4. You add or remove a star in the users menu for engineer I wouldn't say the afd was suitable. Completion cert would be a better place but yes the author action method isn't defined
  5. Yes but it's a requirement to have user Auth for eng access so turn off with caution
  6. Yes they did the famous zone omit module. Used by us all till software replaced it
  7. use a link to disable the circuit following the shunt lock, no need for a zom
  8. i read it as 2 part sets
  9. No not on the dimension you might look at groups instead
  10. Lol Trebling up on the strobe pos H?
  11. Agreed but that's more than 3. Most complicated is a multi switch '3 core' granted the earth makes 4 Plus sabs used to be 6 core its only the market that commened up hold off and strobe pos
  12. The regs have changed over the decades, a latching strobe is deemed a 'lockout' risk, ie if the strobe is active its probable the system has locked out and won't activate again.
  13. As above if it 22 yrs old you might be able to resurrect some of it but I'd question faith in something so old with unknown service history.
  14. Depends on your mindset, do you want maybe say 90% reliability or less. If less your going the right way look at generally available diy ring etc. Will work via the school WiFi. You could go as you say for 1 way rf door bells or even 1 way rf security stuff. But the bigger question is do you need it to be resilient, something to rely on?
  15. I know this will offend the sparks but alarm lads deal with even numbers of wires. Its a different skill set with much smaller cables. I've yet to meet a spark that didn't know better / best in every way till the first series contact came up
  16. Why not buy a non ADT badged (and modified) visonic unit?
  17. As above many panels can but you need to consider holidays etc. Maybe a panel with remote arm disarm would be more suitable
  18. Agreed looks like no power to the detector
  19. As above as a responsible forum we will not discuss how to defeat or default systems
  20. to be fair i would replace a transformer. Id worry why it went though. From experience a tx failing points to issues elsewhere
  21. the strobe output will remain active if not 'reset' if its active when the panel seems normal it has an issue. You have measured its the panel driving it so cannot be a faulty sounder
  22. the stats dont say that. I suppose it depends on product and the definition of 'trade'
  23. C'mon it's the best stuff they make with issues but still
  24. It's the only thing they make well
