  1. No not on the dimension you might look at groups instead
  2. Lol Trebling up on the strobe pos H?
  3. Agreed but that's more than 3. Most complicated is a multi switch '3 core' granted the earth makes 4 Plus sabs used to be 6 core its only the market that commened up hold off and strobe pos
  4. The regs have changed over the decades, a latching strobe is deemed a 'lockout' risk, ie if the strobe is active its probable the system has locked out and won't activate again.
  5. As above if it 22 yrs old you might be able to resurrect some of it but I'd question faith in something so old with unknown service history.
  6. Depends on your mindset, do you want maybe say 90% reliability or less. If less your going the right way look at generally available diy ring etc. Will work via the school WiFi. You could go as you say for 1 way rf door bells or even 1 way rf security stuff. But the bigger question is do you need it to be resilient, something to rely on?
  7. I know this will offend the sparks but alarm lads deal with even numbers of wires. Its a different skill set with much smaller cables. I've yet to meet a spark that didn't know better / best in every way till the first series contact came up
  8. Why not buy a non ADT badged (and modified) visonic unit?
  9. As above many panels can but you need to consider holidays etc. Maybe a panel with remote arm disarm would be more suitable
  10. As above as a responsible forum we will not discuss how to defeat or default systems
  11. to be fair i would replace a transformer. Id worry why it went though. From experience a tx failing points to issues elsewhere
  12. the strobe output will remain active if not 'reset' if its active when the panel seems normal it has an issue. You have measured its the panel driving it so cannot be a faulty sounder
  13. the stats dont say that. I suppose it depends on product and the definition of 'trade'
  14. C'mon it's the best stuff they make with issues but still
  15. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-55855271
  16. I'd add texecom and pyronix are mass market, they definetly hit the numbers on units sold however from SW point of view they also have the highest return of product. As Pete says risco bells
  17. Oh ok Dont know the flex that well. If its not programmable (others will know more) you could link a circuit to an output (circuit programmed as PA, output programmed to follow the RF keyfob)
  18. As many of you will know im extending my own Home assistant system. I have noticed some support for what i would call 'proper' control equipment rather than the toy town stuff more traditionally supported. I see texecom have a mqtt Texecom2mqtt: Texecom alarm panel and MQTT integration with HA support - Third party integrations - Home Assistant Community (home-assistant.io) Vanderbilt have Vanderbilt SPC - Home Assistant (home-assistant.io) Galaxy Guy has one for Honeywell Galaxy (im sure he will post more info) Hikvision GitHub - zoilomora/hikvision-to-mqtt: Sends alarm events from Hikvision DVR to MQTT
