  1. The tests on using the emulated analogue ports are hit and miss for digis, systems need to be upgraded. The question is who pays. Like sky vs netflix etc, clients are happy to upgrade their tv, amazon stick etc but upgrading a 20yr old bit of kit is too much and obviously our fault for it no longer being reliable.
  2. Hope your OK thinking its 5 years away, you not seen any pstn issues your way?
  3. Pretty much everyone knows galaxy, if they dont know it its like saying they have never heard of ford as a mechanic. Not knowing it well is different. IMO people should specialise do what they do and do it well, not ive seen one of these before how hard can it be. Got the same issue with my Bosch Boiler at home, needed a specialist and after a while found one.

Is this the internal sounder? have you connected a sounder to the speaker output?
  5. as the advice from ofcom bsia etc is PSTN is dying. SIA wise we have upgraded most of the estate away from PSTN.
  6. The metal 'radiator' is a heat sink. The tamper switch is the switch with green wires coming of it. We don't give default info on here as it can be used to disable systems.
  7. I'm amased h spent the time giving such a detailed reply. I totally agree with Mr happy
  8. I have on bigger panels. In theory it should work using the output of the circuit for 2 inputs
  9. Some of the integration the dvr holds the config, canging the camera will then be overwritten. Seen it on Adpro and HIK with ANPR
  10. Have yuo set the integration up between the nvr and the camera. It may be overwriting the config in the camera
  11. yes unless its a really old one then it was a link of wire iirc
  12. the viper will flash like that its a 'comfort' led if you tap them again the led will stop for about 7 sec. Best to have them in this mode its like comfort leds on a bell, shows its powered
  13. this is to give early warning of a connection issue failing device etc. good firms transmit this data and then book a visit 'before' the device fails. Low res is usually water or damage, high res is connection issues or failing detector
  14. Double balanced has 2+ resistors so a short or complete open circuit is a tamper. on a agalaxy you can add multiple door contacts and just ad a 1k in parallel with the switch. Basically a reading of 1k is closed 2k to 11k is alarm, 12k+ tamper But you cant use fault resistors etc. its a sensor fault. A grade 3 sensor can report a fault on the eol wiring by open different relays to give a fault reading. The panel can then identify that the sensor itself has reported it has failed an internal test. exit termsinators are to tell the alarm that everyone is outside the protected area and it can complete the arming process. Most people use final door but i prefer pts (terminate)
  15. As Al says it should be looked after like you would a car, when was it last serviced? But is it the entry exit tones that have stopped working?
  16. Qfa Also the output maybe open without a pull up or down it won't show much logic wise
  17. id expect it to read a difference with a meter, unless the output is broken. If you cant read it with a dvm then a t relay wont help
  18. i would think you would need a t-relay but yes unless you have overloaded it already
  19. Agreed looks like the sounder is in supervision failure
  20. To a point wire is wire but unless your running the lighting in it I'm a little lost?
  21. Running perpendicular won't be an issue, as noted you need seperation too. But I don't see that in the pic? Would it not of been easier and better to be under the floor above?
