  1. Depending on window contruction, type etc you may need 3 sensors
  2. Ed I would advise you break your questions down into smaller chunks, focus on one thing per topic etc
  3. Glad your all sorted
  4. Must admit ive never known an insurer accept a non certificated system for anything. Hope its the actual insurer and in writing not the broker or call
  5. few do. few care etc
  6. im not a fan of the enforcer (panel on entry route etc)
  7. no its not a resistor its a jumper
  8. thats a ventcroft vision sab its the green nicd pack on the left there is an orange iirc jumper that disconnects it
  9. the sd1 is a dialler, its not your alarm panel. What panel have you got?
  10. Is this something your running on HA?
  11. as above the more modern risco panels (Gardtec no longer exist) have apps but the equipment you have is more 6210 than iPhone 6
  12. you might have the only fully functioning 20yr old lead acid battery but i doubt it. should be changed at 5 yr max Intruder alarms shouldnt sound when the power goes off
  13. you could do a rough calc based on capacity, i dont know what the published cs expected life of the yale is. But dont forget batteries age too. As above can you fit a decoy in this location and the bell in a more accessable for servicing position
  14. I would only use lithiums but i suppose yale want alkaline due to its target market.
  15. We get your point and it highlights other issues with cheaper diy equipment, ie blink, ring cctv etc. No-one here will be converted to use yale, we have all seen it and would rather use anything else ie their is recognised pro stuff that is similar money. We had a recent convo on here about cctv and it seems the belief with conumers is that 'high quality' cctv is available installed for about £500 this is simply not true. However as long as the person buying/installing/using the yale system understands its insecurities etc they may not be a concern. To me they would be as you are telling the world from outside what system you have and google how to get around it. But back on topic In theory soldering onto the battery connections with a regulated psu 'should' function, but wont work in the event of an ac fail, may cause battery monitoring issues and is not recommended.
  16. Iirc it's an abacus 6.
  17. Had one Friday where the 'cctv' didn't work but wants us to look at it. The alarm worked as expected but the 'amazon' Pro installed cctv didn't. Seems the passwords have been changed...
  18. I'd assume low batt response is programmable if going low batt unset would be different to set?
  19. What you using the ddns for?
  20. wont protect it though
  21. Also the cameras I have at home cost me £120 +vat each
  22. Using what? Plus what use is a 1Tb drive with 4 cameras unless using very low bitrates?
  23. What crap equipment they using a dvr and hard drive costs more than the guide!
  24. was checking traffic etc and did some searches and came across this
