  3. Went and did a job on a small commercial unit, guy moved into it wanted CCTV fitting and the alarm codes changing & signalling put on he was adamant no police response key holder only also asked if he unplugged his DVR will it stop the cameras recording . Some kind of body shop repair place so bit of kit in there and tools Defaulted panel and changed codes, noticed no trap detection in the main workshop advised on a dualtec he said all windows and doors have got vibration sensors on them. Told him not unknown for intruders to take walls down now and again, Nice new dualtec fitted. When installing cables for CCTV noticed a shotgun cartridge. Then when i was installing the dualtec the reg plate just fell off a 15 plate merc as it was stuck on with double sided foam tape WTF. No wonder he didn't want a police response Finished the install got paid CASH believe it or not packed up my tools and left pretty sharpish lol
  4. U know it, taxi co as well i believe lol
  5. I thought so haha, never been ifsec haven't been privileged enough yet back in my CS days, was rumoured that a lot of carrying on went on at ifsec, Could have just been our sales girl though
  6. Assuming you got a spare input on your dialler just wire it directly into that through the relay, just double check your trigger polarity is the correct way round, seen it a lot where it only signals upon reset
  7. Surely not all the forum members are females, best watch what i say might get a clip round the head lol
  8. Suppose i best introduce myself haven't i Being from Manchester its safe to say i have come across the ADE panels wired on positive return on one piece of 8 core cable, blew my mind at first lol. Never knew a carpet fitter could take a whole system out in one go haha and as for servicing of the alarms, well wouldn't want to be in Oldham just after a power cut that's for sure
  9. Me being new here just wondered if you ever meet up with other members of the forum or arrange a gathering of sorts for a few scoops
  10. I have noticed a few Yale Security Point sounders about recently, look like dummy risco XS3D or could be a wireless bell so that's a good starting point, its just what's in at the guts end of it, Yale installing risco gear ?
  11. Suppose so i had to wait for him to turn up to my interview was coming back from a quote, so i got talking to the girl in office who said previous firm had 18 engineers before it went under
  12. Well they even told me this over the phone about my own car did put me off, plus i would be there only engineer aswell + the MD but that didnt really phase me tbh with them just starting up again
  13. Agreed they still build C&G framework on it but just throw the European Regs in for good measure. 15. Hi all, been for a interview this week for a recently established co, previous firm was liquidated, Just they want me too use my own car for a trial period before getting a van on a 3yr lease just incase it doest work out i got to be right for them and they got to be right for me then there stuck with a van, but woudnt the next engineer comes along use it, its just got me thinking allsorts, Ive known apprentices that get given a van no problem.
  16. Why not just power it up with a 12v power supply, my m8 wanted a illuminated oddy x bell putting up. Did tell him to get alarm but wasnt for having it Just put 12 volt wire a hard poss onto u bell trigger leave battery disconected as u know someone gonna eventually unplug it after 5pm lol. Then u got a realistic dummy i wouldnt even bother with a dummy or bell only for that matter tbh. there still gonna have a go, when they do u want something decent.
  17. You can have alarm monitoring via IVMS 4200 Software just needs setting up. It will also work with IVMS7000 from LTS Security Inc., I assume they rebrand Hikvision Stuff for the USA Market. Only downside I have noticed on the 16ch model (Without Alarm Inputs) is that if you did want to use some kind of monitoring ie through the Line Cross Detection feature only works with one Channel. However IP Cameras on the same DVR can have line cross detection as its direct in the camera software, On the IVMS you add them as new devices but add them to the same group (Site). Other than that it looks good kit just a shame you cant have Line Cross detection on more than one camera Also Alien DVRs will work through both the IVMS software's.
