  1. The Honeywell activ8 Pet friendly PIR is very nice looking PIR but it does a really good job when protecting my property and as I have a dog in the house who we let roam round the house freely and I've had no false alarms and It's a PIR I would recommend and there better than the old PIRs I bought 1 Activ8 pet immune PIR to try and fitted it in the living room zone 2 and all PIRs have been changed to Honeywell Activ8's except zone 5 which was upgraded to an Optex PIR in 2008 that can also be a pet immune PIR by turning the board inside it the other way round and the Optex has given no false alarms but I would recommend a Honeywell Activ8 or Optex Wonderex EX-35
  2. no, I've been playing with alarms since I was 8 and have always wanted to do it as a job in the future
  3. yeah pretty much but when I remove old systems I keep them because I use them for parts
  4. I'm taking it up for a job now as it's good to have a job then no job at all and I'm happy that I now work with alarms
  5. Hi, Today I had two alarm jobs and on my last job I got a phone call asking for a replacement alarm system as the one they had was rubbish. I got to the house with a brand new Pyronix enforcer and before installation of the enforcer the people in the house told me they just moved in to the house 3 days ago and the house had a Response Miguard fitted and they said it was false alarming and going nuts with them. I installed the enforcer on the house and at the end of installing the Pyronix enforcer they were thrilled with the system. Now my review on the Response Miguard is that it's very flimsy and I wouldn't say it's the best because there really poorly and cheaply made and there very easy to tamper with. So really to bear in mind I rather choose a better alarm system then a Miguard.
  6. Not just the panel the PIR's, Door/Window contacts, PA button and the bell box
  7. He said it's normally zone 2 activating which is the Ultrasonic PIR
  8. Hi, Today I was trying to fix a friends burglar alarm which has being going off in the day and at early hours of the morning sometimes. He asked me if I could take a look at it and so I did the tamper circuit and all the wiring in the devices such as PIR's, Door/window contacts, PA button and the bell box all looked ok and I couldn't see anything wrong with the wiring or the tampers on all the devices on the system. I did put a new back up battery in the panel just in case that was causing the problem and then I screwed the cover back on to the Optima plus and made sure it wasn't over tightened but still nice and secure. Then I just checked the 2 PIRs and the 2 door/window contacts and one of the PIRs is an old Aritech Ultrasonic and the second PIR is an old Microwave detector could the 2 PIRs be the problem?

  11. Hi has anyone got an ADE Logic 4 plus 4 that works because the one that I own no longer works and my parents threw it in the bin. I was real annoyed because it was one of the first burglar alarm panels I bought when I first started alarm collecting. Has anyone got another ADE logic 4 plus 4 that they could sell me because I'm willing to pay £35 for it. many thanks Drew

The bell box terminals are BELL 1, BELL 2, STROBE 1, STROBE 2, TAMPER 1, TAMPER 2. I had the bell box wired up to the Ade concept 6 with the terminals (BELL 1 AND BELL 2) wired to bell + and - . If they are ways to get it working I am much appreciated and Thanks so much for your help :).
