To a home owner unless familiar with what is installed it means nothing until it starts to develop a fault or brake down.then its too late and realise they have a rover metro and its only a matter of time before the next brake down or failure.
-
Pagid competition pads. What was wrong with a rover metro it was fit for purpose in taking people from a to b eventually most of the time until it rusted to death. Lol see your point. Like every think people buy or have is it not. Its a need to know basis or from experience gained in the past people make there decisions. PAGID COMPETITION PADS. Try them

Audi, good car. TDI or SFI . Audi share same running gear as vw, skoda and some seats and some of that stuff is a bit naff. Any way yes see your points and carnt disagree with you. If i can get this rf noise question answered i be happy. If the system starts playing up major again it will be going if its not a simple fix as its a backward system.

Cheap parts are sometimes better than OE ones these days. But if people are not aware of things such as this people base there decisions do they not on trust and word of mouth. Things have moved on massively within the motor trade and within technology in last 10 years.

I aint going to say i dont rate bmw. So whats your mode of transport? Do you service it yourself or take it to dealer? If you dont why? And thats your answer...lol Yes if this system is a dacia no wonder i carnt get my head round understanding the panel. Lol Just want a answer on the readings i have given.

I work for BMW

Carnt find any information in engineers reference guide or in user instructions about measuring and testing rf noise. Only have a copy of hybrid wireless set up and programming. So i leave this well alone on the panel.. Just wanted to confirm the settings i have listed will be ok as not sure how to change or measure them on my system. So as to rule out this issue for my false lost signal errors on two of the wireless sensors. Nothing more. Thanks all that have made a positive and helpful comment. Its appreciated.

I didn't buy it, a local alarm company installed it and i didnt ask him what make or model it was, it was based on trust and reputation of the company around here. Its only afterwards a few years on these issues are coming up and i am trying to sort out.

I dont install alarms or security system as a job.i just have a few issues with my own house alarm that i am trying to sort out. Risco are helping me to a limited degree

Dont know how to get in to this menu and sub menu for measuring these reciever settings on this panel. I dont want to press a load of buttons wrongly which will cause me more issues. Its not a user friendly panel at all unless you know it well, as i am finding out. Any one who know this panel the settings i have listed are what it was when the system was installed. Does it look ok? How i change and measure them again i dont know how to do easily? So i leave it well alone unless i can find the information out.

Hi Hillbilly I have managed to re programme the zones and correcting them to 12 hour from what they defaulted to in error on the panel. Working fine. Just need to check how to change reciever noise but a bit reluctant as Before i start looking in to changing reciever noise etc the original set notes written in the manual say: Reciever noise 13% Zone RSSI Back door. Zone 91 - 64% Patio door zone 92 - 80% Landing window zone 93 - 80% Bathroom window zone 94 - 80% Small shed zone 95 - 56% Large shed zone. 96 - 56% So before i try and change any of this is the above information acceptable and i dont need to change? As nothing i have changed in the sheds or the house apart from getting two new flat screen tvs nothing else has changed so do i need to do any thing further. ?

two zones that are causing issue is outside shed and patio door . have read log on panel and before the wireless zones got corrupted or programming lost these two zones dropped out and i got a code L notification

Have spoken to a company in my area this morning, very helpful. They have said exactly the same as you i need to check zone settings . they can come out and sort it in 10 minutes but have suggested i have a go first with the engineers manual for the system . I have a look tonight when i get home from work . Hillbilly can you tell me why i would some times get a lost signal warning on the panel from a wireless reciever ? code L...........

Yep, its far from logical, its pathetic now. Have emailed a few local companies to see how much it will cost to change it and get it took out, still waiting on original company who installed it to get back to me, no chance i think. Waste of time and money. Lessons learnt. Failing that if its a simple programme fix i need some one who knows these alarms inside out locally who want to touch it. Middlesbrough area
-
It doesnt say any thing on the panel. I put the alarm in to engineers mode now and leaving it as since taking the wireless zones off the system the up stairs pir is now setting the internal alarm off even though its not active. Totally stupid system. Middlesbrough area. I make a few calls next week to try and get it sorted.
-
I have took all the wireless zones off the system for now until i get it looked at and or removed. I have not touched the settings for each zone. Only thing i can assume is they must have default settings for each zone, so if i have taken off the zone and then put it back on it has defaulted to that setting. Just a assumption. However it doesnt explain why upstairs pir would set alarm off now even when system is off. Give up with it until i get some one out.

I wouldn't diy it. Had enough of its wireless false alarms to put me off the stuff. Shame i wasted my money 5 years ago on it but i didnt know, thought it would last longer and installation company no real help now as don't like coming back to fix it it seems. As of tonight i have unistalled all 5 wireless zones off the alarm altogether and put the alarm in engineer mode in an attempt to stop it going off. I am a mechanic by trade. To me its got to be down to the receiver playing up and screwing things up on the panel. I think the start of the problems was when it dropped the wireless zones off and all i have done is chase the problem until its set the whole alarm off now randomly from any wireless zone.. It will be a interesting conversation i might have with risco but i doubt will solve any thing. There are a few gold installation companies in north east i get in touch with.

NATIONAL security inpectorate. Found web site there a few installers in the north east area. Can any one recommend a colleague who on this forum from there and this area?
-
No just had it installed by a at the time a reputable installer of alarms and its what he fitted at the time. I didnt question what make or model it was etc. Just gone out. Had to go back home as wifes now opened bathroom window and its set the full alarm off with outside bell going off as i drove up the drive.. Its also rang my parents phone and woke them up who where in bed. I taken off the system all the wireless zones now. Given up with it. Its taken this for me to decide i am taking out. Its got a mind if its own. I have text the company who put it in but surprise surprise no response. Whats the most realiable system to get installed please? I live in north east of England so could do with a recognised installer. Thanks all

Looking like replacement if carnt sort it next week. As getting stupid issues with it now. I am loosing confidence in the alarm system now. Too many programme issues for me to understand and fix myself. System in view event mode until its sorted now as carnt be bothered getting up again in early hours for a stupid false alarm shed T shed L or landing panic nonsense.
-
Agree, thats my fear, then i will bugger it up.when in doubt do nothing
-
Yes agree with all comments made. I get some one out next week i think as its got to be programming issue now. Alarm off, open landing window. Full house alarm goes off. Panic zone 093. So i remove zone 093 off system and reset it. Then I created a new zone zone 097 but i dont know what the default settings should be for that wireless zone, however when i open the landing window and alarm is off it fine. So do i leave landing window set as zone 097 but what the default settings are i dont know or do i try and ammend the settings for zone 093 which would keep it as it was with the correct zones etc. Since i have limited kniwledge on how to change zone parameters i think it is niw best i get some one in to ammend the settings before i knack it up . Or pull the plug on it and up date the system

I wish i could make this up. its a right mess about this risco stuff. Have taken the zones off the system tonight. And wait to see what i can do next week. No doing any thing until i speak to risco
