karl taylor replied to karl taylor's topic in Detector Queries (Public)
Risco group products on the new box it says in small print assembled in china designed by risco. those words say it all i think for me now. rubbish gear. Thanks all for posting -
How can i test the bell box battery back up battery? Will the system have one? or should i just have a look inside the bell box to see if its gone one but i am unsure how to remove the cover from the bell box. screws or clips on side? As tested it as advised on here by removing cable from panel but nothing happened.

Correct you get what you pay for. Can i get a alarm engineer to come out who had been recommended as an approved installer by risco in my area. erh. No 5 companies rang, 2 rang back. One still waiting for them to turn up. Agree from previous post i just need to get it totally serviced. This is what i am trying to do on my own. With help and guidance from people on here.

Risco wireless sensor battery low issue
karl taylor replied to karl taylor's topic in Detector Queries (Public)
The first problem was over two years ago with a faulty sensor for the shed yes. Not the same fault. Fault was a low battery indication when there was not a low battery. Second fault is now with a patio door saying same fault issue. Low battery despite changing the batteries 4 times in the same sensor. Sensor changed fault gone. Now changed all the batteries in all the other sensors that i have last week. All was fine. I did not notice any rusting on shed sensor. Then again i changed the batteries after i came home from work at 8pm so it was a night time and i wanted it fixed. After all i am the one getting woken up at 3am with this false battery alarm. So one of shed sensors has gone off again. Closer inspection it has rusted. So the whole alarm system i am trying to sort out now on my own as no alarm people will come out. To say this is a blag, no it is not. I am the one getting woken up in the early hours by a faulty alarm . I am using a methodical approach. I am changing the faulty parts and its fixing the problem. my issue with my alarm not a blag -

People on this forum have been of more help and assistance than the manufacturer and there none helpfull customer service department who i have rang too many times. No not recommended. -

I have just fitted a new sensor to the shed as would not reset, i think mosture must have got in the anti tamper switch and small circuits. Messing about on a saturday night with this ****, i should be in the pub. Have spread some silcone round the sides of the outside of the casing to try and stop the moisture. Should of used some electrical grease on battery terminal ends but old one looked ok there just the rest of battery clamp was rusting. Did not have any silca gel. Might be ok with silcone round sides of new casing? Bit of a bodge but think might be ok? I am going to buy a few more new door sensors as it looks like risco have improved the internal workings of it doing away with on the front the anti jacking spring instead putting a metal spring clip which is held on the cover. And the battery clip in terminals have now a plastic insulation securing cover. Have to agree mind if the alarm had a service every year these issues would be found out and sorted instead of them all playing up at once. But trying to get hold of thepeople who installed it is impossible. -

Just checked the batteries in wireless sensor on my two sheds. One of them was flashing low battery. Here we go again. So took cover off to find it starting to go rusty on battery terminals. Change battery. Nope nojoy internal alarm going off again. For god sake this is one pile of rubbish italian made alarm. So i had a spare new sensor. Fitted it all ok again. See picture below of sensor i took off shed door. Its only been on a year or so as was faulty originaly. Rusting causing a fault. Risco gardtec or eurosec what ever it is if you read these forum comments. improve the quality of your alarms please. I am going to change the rest of the sensors now for piece of mind. More money spent in a **** set up. -
No not blag

This battery will be the same one i need to get for panel see below? As only one that has similar amps etc looks the same but niw say. FR on it?

So i dont need to be out of engineer mode and i have the right wire yes? If its wired on the board and i disconnect it and it doesnt go off why are suggesting its not connected? Would it not logva fault on the events view? I took the cover off the panel to see what battery i need. there are a few on the net and ebay as i am going to change it any way. I was just hoping for a quick test of the bell box battery to save getting the ladders. Is this bell box cover easy to remove? Its a square box with a flashing left to right red light at the bottom with a orange illumation when going off as i have tested the alarm already and it works. Just need to find out about battery back up in the bell box now if no other way but to take cover off bell box. Its been chewed to get a ladder out and have look. Any further advise welcome. Thanks all

I have tried to test the bell box by removing the wire that says bell hold on it to test to see if bell back up battery is working. It the 4 wire on the bottom of the panel. On photo its the black wire Nothing happens. No sound from bell box. This might be a stupid question but do i need to be out of engineers mode on the alarm for me to do this test? Or does this suggest battery for siren back up is knacked?

Shame you didnt live near me mr happy i would pay you to sort this mickey mouse alarm system out for me. Had now 3 alarm companies get back in touch with me out of 5 i have contacted. With 2 of them saying we call you back to arrange an appointment bla bla bla. Never called back. Where i live the attitude is or seems to be if didnt install it not my problem So if i can fix, service or what ever to sort this alarm out i will until it gets ripped out and up dated. I wont be getting a risco product thats for sure. Any way i get some new batteries for the fob remotes and see what battery i need for panel and test bell bix siren and take it from there as system was fitted in 2011 so battery will be on its last legs.

morning all batteries in wireless sensors are duracell ultra wireless sensor that was faulty was inside house on the top of door frame. no moisture in it. risco as no help at all . new sensor fitted and 48 hours in no faulse alarms . so sensor was faulty / worn out despite the door it was on never been used. rubbish equipment this system . i sort the batteries issue out any thing major i take the system out . apart from alarm installer where is the best place and what type of battery do i need for the control panel ? will i need to change batteries in strobe light? as its all working on walk test etc ., as it hard wired but been told has some small batteries in it, surely would last along time the one in the strobe?

Yes got two remotes. Ok I change the bateries on them but dont hardly use them. Since this system is lets say old found the installation booklet installed 2011 should i be changing panel battery? Getting to be a bit of a pain this. Just had a quick look at the control panel and have found what looks to be the plastic screws holding the front of control panel to the unit are chewed up to hell so carnt get them out. Are they plastic screws or just plastic caps and screws behind? One mess about after another. May be i could just use a couple of self tapping screws in there place? What do they screw in to as dont know until i get the front panel cover off? So only event on panel now is remote batteries? I change remote batteries thanks

Have change the 5 wireless batteries on the wireless sensors last month. What other batteries are there apart from them and one in panel Why do i need to change them again?. How do i change the battery monitoring options to highest and lowest settings on this panel? its not a user friendly system.

hi where is the best place to buy a good quality battery for this alarm control panel ? just need to remove front cover and reset tamper then unclip it and fit new one ? don't think any thing special about doing this > I don't need to reset it on the system so alarm knows it has a new battery for correct trickle charging ?

on event view it says now - On event log it says this now: Constant lo bat 13 feb 15:00:00 Radio lo bat ok 15 feb 19:18:16 Off chg volts lo 27 jan 19:06:20 Radio lo bat ok 19 jan 19:41:36 Power restored 10 jan 21:09:36 Constant lo bat 09 Jan 21:00:00 any ideas please? I think its means the battery inside the panel was low and it has been recharged ? as I read the battery is on a trickle charge all the time and states this on events as these descriptions ? or does it mean battery inside panel is low and is discharged need replacing? -
Any thoughts please apart from scrap this over complicated out of date joke of a alarm system. Not impressed. Do i need a new panel battery?
