So you can see why I’d like to diy it myself am i right in thinking That if I default reset with the old pad I place still then replace keypad with new one I shouldn’t run into any problems swapping the pir’s after system is all set just with new keypad -

The keypad worked just fine up till about a week ago it used to tell me it had a tamper as it had been removed from the wall to allow for the plastering I was looking to upgrade it as the casing is old and cracked and the newer keypads are smaller -
Hi guys looking for some advice I have a scantronic 9651 alarm with one main keypad, 5 pir detectors and smoke detectors ive had it service yearly in the 10 years I’ve had it but recently had a lot of work in the house done plastering and decorating and my now the keypad just lights up no sound and no message on it just a blank screen and I’m looking to switch the pir to pet tolerant I dint have the engineer code for the alarm so I’m guessing first thing to do would be reset the default codes then fit the new keypad and then the detectors anything I should expect or know about going from other bits on the forum each job seams fairly strait forward only thing worrying me I’d the keypad not working before the reset

Al-yeti I know what others have said about simply swapping case and cut this and cut that but when you’ve just spent best part of £30 getting what you had been told before was the right part to get then your forgive me for being a bit reluctant to start cutting wires and swapping this for that also new to this site and this topic should have been posted in the diy installer forum not in here but thanks all for advice and assistance

Ok I think I need to return it am I right I’m needing to CQR soint1 I posted about earlier
-
So what your saying is snip all the black wires from the new speaker and the new tamper switch take out the circuit board and led and just use the connector bloc from old sounder
-
Swap the case Ok I think I need to return it am I right I’m needing to CQR soint1 I posted about earlier
-
I want to keep and use tamper speaker is soldered into circuit board so would need to cut it out to swap case over I think I would run risk of braking new case as I try to take out speaker, circuit board and LED
-
Swap the case
-
-
But how do I stop the case all the tamper switch is fitted to the circuit boar and in to the case don’t think I can get the tamper switch out without damage
-
I’m upgrading the pir detectors and putting in a new keypad at the same time and looking at the two sounders it’s not just a simple case swap I think the new one will work fine just want to know what terminals to wire in to on the new one Sorry new to site and didn’t really know where to go
-
Yes the original had a broken casing
