The NVR under platform access Register status says online but when I login to the cameras themselves their register status is offline but the server IP and verification code receive the green tick when the details are saved. The cameras were installed by myself earlier this year, I believe they were all added by scanning the serial number as the models at the time did not have a QR code on the label, only a code for downloading the app itself. Oddly one of my cameras has been pushing notifications sporadically, I am trying to compare settings but they all seem to be set up the same.

I don't have an android device to try unfortunately. I did just try disabling smart event and using just motion detection but still no luck. The Hikconnect registration on the cameras is confusing me, its still saying offline but I thought along as the NVR was online that would be ok

I did wonder if that was the case and they haven't caught up updating the app. I did also think it might be a change in ISP to Virgin media which seems to be around the same time notifications stopped working. I understand with Hikconnect as its a free app but Procontrol+ with an alarm panel is a paid for service so I would hope they would keep that working, it does for the alarm notifications but not the cameras. It would be nice if Hikvision and Pyronix were integrated better, rather than seemingly moving further apart in the last few years. Jim

Hi Everyone, Has anyone had any issues with notifications using Procontrol+ app? The events are being triggered and registered on the NVR but they are not being pushed to the mobile devices. Hikconnect is enabled and registered as online on the NVR but not showing registered for the cameras individually? I have updated the cameras and NVR firmware to the latest version and enabled/disabled the Hikconnect app and nothing seems to be working. Regards Jim

No rush when it’s your own house and during lockdown, plus having a 3 year old and a 2 week old has meant slow progress. I did get a pecan pie made by the wife though so not going to grumble! Will try and power up the three cameras I have up in a bit. I am scared to turn them on incase they don’t work ?? Jim

Thanks for the reply's, I checked my tester on a known working patch lead to double check and then redone the connections again for a third time at both ends and must have been third time lucky as it is now testing correctly. I have two cameras up now, one left for today and then the tricky couple at the end I think. regards Jim

I won’t be able to power it locally unfortunately. I have redone the connection at the remote end and I still have 1&2 flashing the same time and now pin 4 is not lighting up at both ends. it may be my connections that are not great so going to try the remote end again and if that fails I will have to replace the cable I guess. it’s annoying as I don’t know where the kink or damage along the cable will be as it’s all in conduit. I also cut it off the drum before testing. I am going to look at the drum to see if I can find the other end to test it before cutting it off. regards Jim

Hi everyone, I have cracked on with installing my CCTV, I have run a few cat 5 cables and tested them successfully using my Haydon tester. Unfortunately after running a length through some conduit I have found that my tester is flashing both pins 1 & 2 simultaneously and then cycling through the other pins correctly at one end, the other end flashes fine. Will I have to replace the whole cable or will my Hikvision turret camera be ok with the 1 & 2 pins, I guess crossed? I am unsure if the camera uses those pins? I have replaced both ends and redone the connection but it has not fixed the problem. Thanks for any help Regards Jim

Patio around the back and sides and some fake grass out in the garden. I started the garden project in September a year after the house build but then the wet weather hit and put everything on hold. Still loads to do on the place I don't think I will ever be finished with jobs lol. If I drill into the corners and mount the turrets, can I do away with the junction boxes I have got? or would I still need those to waterproof the connections on the camera? I think it would look better drilling through the corners but how would I best seal the cable going through the felt side of the flat roof?

Ok, so I have uploaded some pictures from the outside to give a better idea of what I am talking about. Here is a picture of where my two turrets will go to cover my biflolds and this side of my house positioned on the corner of my ground floor rear extension. fullsizeoutput_cb7 by James Allchurch, on Flickr I was originally going to put the cables through the opening for the drain hopper with the turrets mounted on junction boxes but I am thinking maybe drill through to the flat roof. I don't want to compromise the water tightness of my flat roof though. Here is a picture from up on the roof. aA2llWFnRY+f4bwkdOB+1Q by James Allchurch, on Flickr After getting the cables on to the flat roof I was then planning on running them up behind the drain pipe then into the loft. At most I think the cable run will be obvious coming over the top of the flat roof and onto the drain pipe and then again back off the pipe and into the loft space. like below on1Ig%lVTT2lquPUw0frmw by James Allchurch, on Flickr 0Ll%jJ01SBmVLu%wDd%rDQ by James Allchurch, on Flickr Hopefully that gives a better idea of what I am planning to do. Any other suggestions would be really appreciated. Cheers Jim

My guttering is black, I will take some photos and try to upload them to give you a better idea of what I am trying to do. Thank you for your help, it's really appreciated. I now looking for some server racking or cabinets to hold everything, I think the wife thinks I am trying to start my own Netflix with the setup I want but she will appreciate the end result. I am certainly learning that I should have had this all worked out when I did the build and sorted it then. Jim

Thank you for the reply, I will move the NVR to inside the room in the loft rather than the loft space in the eaves. I can pair this up with my home server too so that is fine. Thank for the heads up on the trunking, I will look at copex instead. I am thinking just having the cables clipped to the exterior render where necessary, Its hard trying to make it look tidy without cutting away inside. Doesn't help that the only exterior cat5 I could find was black. Two of my cameras are going to be mounted on my ground floor rear extension and I really don't want to run those cables inside around my living room and up into the loft. Is there any particular method of cabling that I should be looking at? I have been doing a lot of youtube research to try and work out what to do. Jim

Hi everyone, I am putting Hikvision CCTV on my timber frame bungalow conversion, I know I should have got the ethernet cables sorted when the electrician wired the place up but it got left out unfortunately. Some of the cameras will be going under the roof so can just go straight into the loft where my NVR will be, however some are going to be mounted lower down. Would it be ok to put those cables in trunking and run behind the guttering or along the outside of the house? Just wondering what you guys would do on a professional job, I can't see many people being happy with loads of holes cut internally around the house to run cables behind the walls. It seems much easier to run them all externally back to a single point and then inside to the NVR. Regards Jim
