  1. Hi Thank you all for your advice. We've decided to replace the ageing GALAXY 16+ and ditch the idea of trying to keep the existing keypad as I can't find any installers willing to fit any Galaxy products.( only Visionic/Scantronix/Pyronix Euro 46 have been mentioned) I'll be getting a system professionally installed and hopefully utilising existing cabling (prewired when house was built in Year 2000) Looking to get all existing motion sensors/Door contacts/Keypad and siren replaced, essentially we need a 4 zone wired system with 3 PIRs 1 door contact, no monitoring or fancy Apps required. Would be grateful for your recomendations for a reliable basic alarm to meet those requirements please. Cheers Col
  2. Yeah it says 16+ on the large chip in the middle of the PCB
  3. Yeah apparently it was offered as a customer option by the company that "took over" the 3 year old ADT alarm that had been installed by the buile=ders when houses where built in 2000
  4. Yeah sorry about that it's been on/off so many times?
  5. We called out the company who's name is on the bell box out front of the house and they tried multiple engineer codes but could not get the system to reset. Appreciate its time to get a modern system but as mentioned my partner wants to keep the stainless panel. House is a 3 bedroom semi with 3 wired Motion sensors ,1 wired door contacts and external bell box. How do i find out who can supply fit new Modern Galaxy system and is that option better than the "Euro 46" alarm they have quoted for with a different keypad?? Thanks in advance for your help
  6. HI Are there any modern systems that are compatible with the sensors keypad etc on the above alarm? After replacing the back up battery , blown fuse and the keypad I got an error code 80474. The company that installed it/converted it from an ADT system (fitted to all the houses on the estate when built in 2000) are unable to access any engineer codes and have written off the system as old and obsolete. The Mrs wants to keep the keypad in the hall downstairs as its behind a custom panel.(picture attached) I'm looking for sugestions to replace the control board with a more modern system but keep the motion sensors door contacts etc that are already wired (appx 23 years old but still working fine with no false alarms) Is that possible and if so anybody on here local to Coventry/Solihull that could give me a quote? Thanks in advance Col
  7. Hi Ive been living in a property since 2010 which has the above alarm system installed. All the houses on the estate (buit 2000) where fitted with this system and an ADT siren/monitoring service from new. At some point before we purchased the property the monitoring service was cancelled and a different bell box fitted. Even though over the last few years the display on the key pad has dissapeared we where still able to arm / disarm the system, and have had no false triggers. After a recent 5 min powercut however the system will no longer arm. we have had a series of powercuts over a few years and the alarm has always worked afterwards, however after this latest powercut the keypad is still illuminated in green and the buttons make a weak beep when depressed but no arming of the system is possible. I've checked the 12v battery in the main control box and it has very low voltage. I appreciate that this is a very old system but we may be selling soon and I'm trying to keep costs down. My Question is: If I purchase a new 12v back up battery will this resolve the issue ? Is there a later system that is compatible with the existing PIRs etc? Many Thanks in advance Col
