  1. Just following up to confirm the alarm didn’t trigger again. The electrical fault has now been fixed and a guy from the alarm company checked the backup battery and it’s fine and didn’t need replaced. Thanks to all the friendly folk on here who give their time to help strangers on the internet (whichever part of these beautiful isles you happen to be from! ). It’s much appreciated.
  2. Beautiful country….would be perfect if it wasn’t for the dodgy weather……oh and the dodgy neighbours over the border! ….
  3. I’m in Scotland and it’s not a bank holiday here so thankfully won’t be any extra delay in contacting them. Cheers.
  4. Thanks very much for the replies. That’s what I suspected that me messing with the bell box might cause it to trigger. I’ll leave it over the weekend and just hope that it doesn’t go off in the night. I’ll phone the alarm company on Monday morning so won’t be leaving it too long. Thanks for all the help.
  5. Hi, yesterday a fault developed with the electric circuit that my Pyronix alarm is connected to. My electrician can’t come until Tuesday and I thought this would be fine as it only affects some sockets in a couple of rooms that I can live without until then, and the alarm has a backup battery. Unfortunately, I didn’t consider how long the backup battery would last! D’oh! Today (Saturday) the battery must have run out and the ringer sounded. It went off after about 20 minutes. I was wondering if there’s a possibility it’ll go off again? I have a good local alarm company who I use to regularly service my alarm but don’t have a running contract with them so as it’s the weekend it will be really expensive to call them out today. I’m worried about it going off in the middle of the night and disturbing the neighbours. I assume there will be a battery in the bell box - is it easy to remove and should I attempt to remove this to be on the safe side? Thanks in advance for any advice.
