  1. @PeterJames I didnt say I would not get a service. But when someone comes here and asks for advice, and people start diverting off topic and saying "get a service", rather than offering useful advice, it defeats the purpose of a forum called "DIY installers". If you dont have anything useful to say to help with the issue, probably best you just keep quiet. Rather than give useless advice that does not answer the question, but rather gives your "opinion" on what should be done, which is probably because you are trying to drum up business for yourself because you are probably a trader in the business. All the **** about "cant help" or its "security industry thing" is a load of rubbish, since everything is readily available on the internet, and lots of other forums, and even other posts on this website, provide more useful advice. I will get a service when I want to, or feel like I need to.
  2. I did a 1st stage reset - found installation instructions online by searching for "Scantronic programming guide" on google, which talks you through how to do this. Error code reset, all working fine now. Theres no need for a service, or calling an engineer etc. Its a very simple process to follow. You dont need to re-programme the system either with a 1st stage reset for this system.
  3. yes i understand, im sure they did change it for that reason
  4. Dont have the master reset code, the system was installed before I moved in two years ago. The default engineer code isnt working, so i think the initial installer has put in a different one to the default code. Lid definitely on properly. The lid tamper fault is "inactive", which means that the fault is no longer there. It just needs an engineer reset. I think even if I ask an engineer to come and do it, if he doesnt have the original engineer code, they will have to reset to default factory settings (perform a stage 1 reset), then re-install. @james.wilson - why would it need a service if I do it myself?
  5. Thanks, yes I am aware I can contact an alarm engineer to do this. My reason for asking here is to see if this is something I can deal with, without needing to do that.
  6. Hi All Recently doing some DIY and unfortunately made a mistake and unscrewed the screws off the lid of the alarm (needed access to something behind it in cupboard). Anyway, internal alarm went off, managed to switch this off by entering code on panel, and I put the screws back in place without removing the lid. Now the panel says "lid tamper" and can't use the alarm. Tried to contact original installer but they are not in business anymore. Can anyone provide some instructions on how to reset the alarm to get rid of this fault? Thanks Alan
