  1. I don't have an internal sounder (I would need one for front and back of house). However I have two keypads. Can I get them to sound a tone/announce that an alarm has occurred?. They tell me about it when I unset the alarm, but don't show any info on the display and are silent when I open a zone.
  2. I've just installed a new HKC SW 10-70 panel. The keypad is giving a fault and alarm indication and beeping. I wired the power to my external bell the wrong way (printed wiring guide had + and - incorrectly reversed compared to actual PCB layout. Should have checked the connections I know, but I've only made this mistake a few times in a lifetime).Hopefully it hasn't fried the panel board/external bell. I've disconnected the bell and connected a 4k7 resistor between tamper return and SAAB hold. Anyway the panel won't accept the default engineer user code ###REMOVED### so that I can set it up/ see a log. It's giving me an "access denied". Any ideas, at least on the password?
  3. Hi People, Have not posted here in a long time but I need some help. I am looking to use a new intruder alarm (wireless kit). The Pyronix Enforcer seemed to tick all the boxes, ease of install, features, peripherals, price, tech support and contents of the kit. However, I have asked around a few engineers here in Dublin and they tell me to stay clear because of the app being very unreliable and general end user experience which leads to too many call backs. If you had to recommend any system what would it be and why? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Stephen.
  4. Hi all, I'm looking to have an alarm fitted in my 4 bed house and doing some research prior to getting some more quotes in. Smartphone connectivity with a good app/push notifications is high on my priority list. The first quotation I have is for a Pyronix - mix of hard wired and wireless detectors. I like the company but I don't like the aesthetics of the panel/keypad configuration offered. I do really like the look of the Galaxy with Mk 8 keypad, but I can't find any detailed reviews on google about the GX app. Also it looks like there are other third party apps for the Galaxy. Am I correct in thinking a Galaxy system will probably in the same ballpark as a HKC which is also high on my list, price wise? Can anyone share their opinions? Many thanks, Richard
  5. What do we think about charging for the APP use to clients, Risco, Eaton is Free both APP & Cloud, HKC charge for both APP & Cloud, Pyronix has Free APP & free Cloud 1st year, then annual subscription, Texecom charge for APP but it uses client direct web connection and needs a degree to programme. Current we include the feature in the annual maintenance agreement, but where clients do not renew which is getting more and more common, we charge, additionally most of the APPS are based on clients broadband, when that faulters from time to time as they do, they want us to fix FOC, thoughts gratefully appreciated
  6. My daughter has a wireless HKC Quantum 70 alarm which has recently reported a number of incidents of RF Jamming in the middle of the night. The problem however is that rather than simply advise her that an attack or jam has been attempted, the alarm goes into a full alarm condition with full sirens and lights. Is this normal or should the alarm simply advise her of a possible jamming attempt (via the app or alarm display)? Neither she, the baby nor the neighbours appreciate being woken up repeatedly in the middle of the night because some unknown wireless device has been used. Any input would be appreciated, cheers.

    HKC Alarms

Anyone offer an opinion of HKC alarms as just had rep in. All looked good but one of the engineers slated them from his experiance a few years ago.
  8. WebWay are pleased to advise that serial connectivity to the HKC Securewave products is now supported. Your panel will need to be loaded with Version 3.3.3 from the HKC website. Login to your HKC account Go to the Client Zone Access Software downloads. Install the "Upgrade Tool for Securewave panels" Then upload from your PC to your panel via USB following the install wizard instructions. We recommend that you take the opportunity to update Smartlink 7000 to V1.2.3 Connectivity and programming instructions for HKC/WebWay integration can be found at the WebWay website in the Support area.
