Guest Goatsmilk Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Dont need our help then cause its dead easy Well er yes it is,
morph Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 hence the reason it's usually over priced for basic house alarms. Okay so what should a three bed semi cost to install a full alarm for the following types of system: 1. bells only 2. Monitored to ARC with full Police response. also what do you suggest the service costs are for the above and what would we need to do We will all be most interested in your opinion.

Guest RICHL Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 goatsmilk - no offence but it seems to me that you opinions of the installation industry are based on your experiences working in an electrical wholesaler, so Im not surprised they are negative. No professional security installer is going to go to an electrical wholesaler for security equipment as they only sell the low end tat - ADE, Texecom, etc the sort of stuff most here wouldnt put on their worst enemie's shed. For the record, your service procedure above is the basics, and Ive never cleaned a PIR in my life, why would I? its not my problem is the customer is a skutty get.
kka Posted March 31, 2006 Posted March 31, 2006 my point exactly, no body can afford to work for nothing in business, unless it is your own house. in that case, your time costs nothing, because that is all it costs you ( time that is ). put your self in our shoes, if your mate, who lives five miles away, wants you to service his alarm. he is not going to be in till between 10:00am and 10:30am. its takes you say 1 hr, how much do you charge him. bear in mind, that is a whole morning taken on just this one call. (two pints and a malt). please do not get me wrong, a fair price for a fair days work.... and there are many in life that not only take your eyes out, but will come back for the sockets as well. Those people, experience can tell and avoid. Kevin Scott. Owner of KK Alarms...... Installation .. Service .. Repair ...... Thoughout.. Northumberland and North Tyneside ..... Guest Goatsmilk Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 goatsmilk - no offence but it seems to me that you opinions of the installation industry are based on your experiences working in an electrical wholesaler. No offence taken, your probably right with that, as there were quite a few dodgy people who 'claimed' to be electricians etc who purchased items from there, then worked in paying customers homes, factories etc, which when seeing that does make you wonder who you can trust and who you can't. It's always good to be able to get recommendations from friends and family, less chance of it all going wrong I suppose. But saying that we did also get some very good tradesmen who did care about what they did. Regards Stu I didnt think compact panels beeped when the service was required? Have you checked the batteries in your smoke detectors? The on-line user manual says it does Goats Milk I think your absolutely right theres nothing to servicing alarrm systems (so long as you know what your doing, and you obviously havent a clue Obviously LOL
