Guest Al the Scot Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Having now replaced the 12 year old battery and not yet having the system checked out professional this appears to have done the trick thanks. (see earlier posting ) However some zones remain lit on the control panel indicating open zones. Firstly the pir do not illuminate as you pass in front the + and - are connected and the fuse is ok in the control panel. I then removed the connection to the zone and fitted a link the led went out indicating panel not faulty? if i twist together the two wires which connect the detector to the zones the led stays on if the link is removed? My main concern is that pir are not detecting movemnt since having the initial problem with the dead battery
morph Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 you need to test the fuse with a multimeter, it may look okay visualy but in fact it could be faulty. Also as was explained before, because the battery has not been changed for twelve years the panel may have been damaged further, due to the system trying to charge a damaged battery.
