Deltaseven Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I am sure I have been told that the RKP should not be visible from outside the protected premises - so that a would-be intruder can not see the status of the system before he breaks in. Is this a requirement under the Euro regs? Was it a requirement under BS4737?
Guest Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I thought it was just the status couldn't be viewed from outside, so if you can see the keypad it needs to not show the set\unset status?
Guest rjbsec Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I thought it was just the status couldn't be viewed from outside, so if you can see the keypad it needs to not show the set\unset status? EN regs say that the status should not be viewable by an unauthorised person, however good practice has always been to avoid the keypad being viewable from outside of the property.
BUSTER Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 It also had to be out of sight so you couldn't observe the code being entered, not an issue with pace unsetting. Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company
BUSTER Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 I'll be the smar*rse and quote the BS BS4737:Part 1:1998 (6.1) Location Control equipment shall be located within the protected premises NOTE The control equipment shall not be visible from outside the protected premises Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company
