Guest carlosjones Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 We just had a very lenghty power cut in my area yesterday (about 15hrs!) and now that the power has been restored my Optima XM6 appears to be having an issue of some kind. On the control panel the only light that is illuminated is the power light, nothing else. Prior to the powercut, whenever any button was pressed an audible sound was heard however when I attempt it now (either trying to enter my code or press the reset button or any other button for that matter) nothing is heard. Also, the strobe light on the bell box outside is constantly flashing. I've looked through the manual and it doesn't appear to cover anything in this particular circumstance. I'm tempted to cut the power off to the unit and unscrew the cover on the control panel to look inside but am a bit hesitant in case I might further compound the problem. As such, I turn to anyone here for any advice before I proceed on a course of action

It may need a complete power/battery off restart or it may have actually damaged the panel pcb - my advice would be to contact an installer in your area and ask him to check the system thoroughly.
