Guest roybhamuk Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Hi, my house alarm went off last week during the day for no apparent reason and it was switched off, I noticed the tamper warning light was on, I pressed the reset button and it returned to normal. Yesterday the same thing happened whilst it was in the same mode as above only this time it went off at exactly the time I switched the landing light on, probably pure coincidence but I thought I'd mention it. Anyone have any ideas on this please?
Guest roybhamuk Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Thanks Guys, I have had the alarm 10 years and it has never been serviced, I find it strange that it goes off in the day when it is not on and not the night when it is activated. What is a Surge Purge ? , Roy
ian.cant Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I find it strange that it goes off in the day when it is not on and not the night when it is activated. Its good point and may well have something to do with a warm sun on your bell box and a dodgy tamper switch, its a long shot but possible!

Until you have this done the tamper faults are not important and may even disappear when this has been completed. Many faults and problems are caused by clients who think that once they have had the expenditure of having the alarm installed, that this is all the investment that they will need to make, this is incorrect.

kka Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 An MOT is NOT a service. Your car needs servicing too :!: yes but a service is not a legal requirement, where a M O T is it was just a thought. my comparison with the MOT, was to make the point that it was something that the customer had to do :!: and the only people that could go any way to implimenting the equavalent of a MOT ( a service if you like) would be the insurance companies. Ahhh but on the MOT certificate it says that the certificate only refers to the condition of the vehicle on the day it was tested and is not indicative of it's day to day state. I don't know why I thought I'd include that though because the system needs serviced regularly (although how many of us on here get our domestic appliances/entertainment equipment serviced?)
Guest Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 although how many of us on here get our domestic appliances/entertainment equipment serviced? Er, me. Well, not so much on the entertainment equipment front but the domestic appliances have a service and occasional rebuilds from time to time.
