Guest properbloke Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Hi I have a paragon plus alarm having had the electric off for a few hours the system had to be reset however since the electrician entered the reset code (given by the alarm engineer over the phone) the alarm sets as normal but goes of instantly as soon as you walk in the house not giving you time to enter the key code, Can anybody help? morph Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 How old is the system and when was the battery last changed!
norman Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 It sounds like the system NVM has defaulted, or at least become corrupt, you require the system checking over. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

I have had a few Paragons which default on mains fail - I believe there was a bad batch of NVM chips. This panel has defaulted and will need reprogramming.

What type of cost are you looking at to reprogramme as i had my fare share of tradesemen rip offs recently
1_hour_install Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 If the battery only lasted a few hours i would be looking at putting a new one in so the system did not default again. I usually like to work out the current draw and have at least 48 hours of battery backup. If you dont change the battery you might have to have the system reprogrammed every time the power goes off.
