I have a phone on the same line as the ARC so I know when the panel is dialling out, however if I lift the handset when the ARC answers I can here about half a second of noise, then nothing.

You tried use the external lines yet? to discount the pabx?

The only thing I can do now is to submit the wintex customer files to Texecom to check for errors.

I suppose I could try a com300 board

Without the lead fitted a com2400 *should* work as a com300 on the digi port

You sure its not showing com3 fault?

the newest software has kicked up a com3 fault message with me when gsm redcare had a path down, only way to get rid was default and reupload programming.

funny thing is, there isnt a com3................yet.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Had some success but was soon short lived. I removed the com1 lead, triggered the alarm which

gave a com 1 fault. I then disabled com port 1 (set to "nothing fitted") and triggered the alarm. This

gave a com 3 fault. So I re-programmed com port 1 to com2400, re-fitted the lead, triggered the alarm and comms started to work. After 3 or 4 alarms, comms failed again and hasn't worked since,

giving ATS failed fault.Defaulting the panel and re-sending the data doesn't change anything.

Oh yes there is... note digi connector is two pins longer than comm connector = Com3 :P

OK...

Have you got more than one ARC programmed as it is a common mistake to have ARC 2 or 3 enabled but with nothing set up in them.

Make sure in Digi options, dial all numbers is NOT selected.

Contact ID works using DTMF (the same thing that is dialling the number) if this is working then it means that tones are OK. It sounds like reciever and digi are not handshaking so no data will be sent.

Have you tried using Fast Format instead, this also uses DTMF so will prove whether problem is Contact ID related or panel/programming related.

Have you tried sending it to another receiver i.e. at Texecom as this will rule out your reciever, sometimes line cards fall out of spec and work for the majority of times but not 100% of the time.

Have you also tried using a none PABX line as this could be causing problems.

Comm will work without lead as this is only for UDL and Text messaging NOT ARC coms.

Individual events can be disabled using wintex and choosing event reporting codes.

Ok, the panel did start to communicate eventually after resetting com port 1.The panel is now fitted

on the premises but it has failed again and no matter how many times I reset com port 1 it simply won,t communicate, just dials the ARC and no data or tones can be heard when monitoring the line.

Have now tried 2 receivers, both pabx and direct lines,2 com2400 boards, contact ID, fast format.

I sent the wintex profile to Texacom but they could not see any programming errors.

The digicom costs half the price of the panel, so would it be worth trying the cheaper com300.
