Guest ver908 Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 That is the correct method to re-establish your usual user code, but be warned.... You have defaulted everything, not just your user code, so if the alarm was altered from default settings at the time of installation it may not perform as expected or as intended. For instance, if you have a personal attack button it will not work unless the alarm is set.Paul Hi Paul, If by using the default code" everything has defaulted" how can I return system to its usual settings. Also if the default code is known -as on this forum, could anyone who knows it disarm my system after I change my original user pin code? I used the default code to silence my internal alarm -as my original user code failed to do so . That is the correct method to re-establish your usual user code, but be warned.... The panel only stores 1 operating code, so when you change it from default to a No. of your choice, no-one else can access your panel. If the panel was programmed, rather than left at factory default settings when installed you would need an engineer to re-programme it. The panel may have been left at default settings, but there is no way of knowing.... Do you have a personal attack button fitted?

Guest Alarm Guard Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Hi,Yes a personal attack button has been fitted. Regards Brian The panel will need to be re-programmed. You can attempt that yourself, but I would not advise you how to do it. You really ought to get an SSAIB or NSI registered alarm co. to re-programme your panel and arrange a maintenance contract with them. This would ensure your security and would probably get you an insurance discount which will partly offset the cost of the contract. Paul
