Guest gmilestone Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 I have a Concept 6 alarm installed in the new house we have moved into. The systems appears to work just fine apart from the entry / exit beep from the internal sounder at the keypad does not work. The sounder is okay as it beeps when entering code numbers etc. I have tried the 'Alarm test' and the internal sounder does not beep when entering code 4 nor during the walk test (zone lights do come on). Any ideas???
Guest oldtimer Posted December 28, 2003 Posted December 28, 2003 Me thinks the panel is set on chime mode. Chime mode is often used when alarms are fitted in shops to tell the shopkeeper who may be in the store room that some has entered the shop. Also some older housekeepers like this option as it alerts them to someone opening the front door. Have a look at your instructions and switch the chime off.
dinefwr Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 I think you mean the chime is not turned on?
FASTCAR Posted December 30, 2003 Posted December 30, 2003 IIRC the concept 6 is a RKP + dump box , could be that the speaker is in the dump box (in the loft or cupboard) and either you cannot hear it , or it is not connected/turned low.Sometimes an extension speaker is fitted on the ex/ent route.
Guest gmilestone Posted January 16, 2004 Posted January 16, 2004 Thanks for your replies, been away on holiday now trying to get the alarm to work. Can't find anything in the manual about 'chimes' and switching on/off. There is no other sounder (other than the external bell box). The beeper at the keypad does work when I put the code number in but does beep during exit or walk test. Amy other ideas???
