Guest BillyBean Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 I have replaced an old A1 panel with a Sterling10 one, and because of comments here about the Sterling Belle quality I have bought a Reson8 Bell. (But then some people say the same about the Sterling10 panel ) The connection names do not match for these two devices, can anyone tell me how the connection should be made please. The Sterling10 has connections: Bell + Bell - BT Bell NO Bell C Bell NC Strobe NO Strobe C Strobe NC The Reson8: RTN - Hold Off + Hold Off - Trig - STB - Looks like I might have make some links at the Sterling end too because it looks to me like the bell & strobe signals are just a switch that is normally open or normally closed.
Adi Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 You need a wire link from bell- to bell C to strobe C in the panel then, Bell + to hold + Bell - to hold- BT to RTN Bell NO to Trig Strobe NO to STB Adi I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

Adi Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 If all fails trying to connect your reason8 to your sterling10, try connecting your size12 to them. I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
Guest BillyBean Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 No need for the size 12's that worked a treat, many thanks Adi. And thanks for this forum where kind professionals are prepared to help mere mortals like me without asking for any reward. (Or did I miss something in the forum rules)
Guest BillyBean Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 One more question! During the installation the panel locked up and when I tried to arm it, just went to the alarm condition. (Sterling 10 lockup, never I hear you say). Apart from taking the mains & battery power off, is there another method to reboot it?
Adi Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 The pyronix phantom strikes again. Once it locks up its locked up, power down or get the biggest hammer you,ve got(after you have disconnected the mains) Keep an eye on it, if its regular take it back and try and swap it for something else. If you cant take it back it might be wise to cut your loses and install something different. Good luck Adi I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
