Guest Cerberus NI Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Not just members of the public, but those that have no training of alarm sysems, electronics or electrics. We would never tell anyone to take the front off the panel, its not just the mains that is dangerous, putting your tounge across a 7Ah battery will have a slightly less forgiving effect than it does when you stick a 9v PP3 on your tounge. Knowing about electricity is not the same as understanding it. Is this from personal experience?? You should keep your private life to yourself!!!

Chris Teague Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Would it be normal for NSI to give someone this information. I would expect them to tell the client the result of their investigation of their complaint, but if they find problems with other installs surely that is confidential and should only be discussed only with the installer and the owner of any defective alarm. From past experience (aprox 2 years ago), they will only tell you the matter has been investigated & that the outcome remains confidential between them & the company concerned. If the NSI make it public that an installer has several faulty alarms in a particular town, that could impact on the security of all their customers in the area. I would have thought that the NSI would ensure the installer puts things right or loses their NSI status. I believe they probably do, at the installers expense & possibly charge for re-inspection, but when was the last time we saw someone publicly being kicked out of NSI or SSAIB for that matter? Something doesn't sound quite right here methinks... Me thinks too . A Solicitor with 30 + posts in a security forum, who's also a sparks in spare time. Speaking as a corrupt scumbag would you advise me to handle my own legal matters or instruct professional liar (Solicitor) to over change me for the privilege? I've never been over "changed" by a Solicitor.
