Guest newbie123 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I've just moved in to my new house and there is a Scantronic 9448 alarm system in place. I set the alarm as normal when I leave and everything seems normal. However, as soon as I open the front door to get in, the alarm is triggered immediately. I'm not very good with things like this. I assume there is something very simple to do where there is some kind of delay upon entering the house, where I can have time to get to the keypad and enter the code before the alarm is triggered. Any suggestions and I'll be very grateful.

Could be your system programming has defaulted and will need re-doing or it might be something simple like the old owner had to ensure a certain door was closed because a pir in a room adjacent progged as full alarm looked at the front door? norman Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Hello, it's more than likely you are entering through a different route to the programmed one. i.e front door when the last owner had it set up for the side or back door. First thing is to try other way's in. You can have it re-jugged and services at the same time for peace of mind. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

whistle Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Or the front door contact could be stuck N/C ( Closed ) so the hall Passive send's the system into alarm on entry?
