Guys,

What is the requirement for warning signs in a public comunity hall.

Town comunity hall, used for all kinds of events, it has a main hall with a stage, bar area, lounge.

An overt CCTV system installed in such a premises, does it need warning signs wherever there is an area under coverage by a camera, or does it just need one on all the entrances.

What information does there need to be on the sign.

Thanks.

For a CCTV system that is only used for security reasons and where any recoded images are only given to the police as evidence and nobody else, and where the system only has fixed cameras, i.e. you cant move a camera to watch one specific individuals actions then its unlikely to need to be registered for DPA. Systems that fall under the DP Arequire signs.

Signs should be visable to the public before entering an area covered with CCTV, so for a car park you would have A3 signs overlooking the car park, and then at the entrance to the hall an A4 sign on the entrance at eye level.

The signs should include;

The person or organisation responsible for the CCTV scheme.

The purpose of the sceme.

Contact number for the person responsible for the Scheme.

CCTV DPA code of practice.
