Guest Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 XP Professional I assume? Doesn't come with XP Home. If it is XP Pro, dunno, only used it once. I think it's all talked about in the Help & Support section within Windows.
Nova-Security Posted May 11, 2006 Author Posted May 11, 2006 Read and followed that but it mentions terminal server which i cant find. BTW it is XP pro www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
Guest Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Can't remember Terminal Services being required the last time I used it. I had it running on my laptop to control a batch of Windows SBS 2K3 servers from a W2K machine and that worked straight forward enough. The one time I used it on XP ISTR having to send a request out, although that may have been for Remote Assistance rather than for Remote Desktop. Towards the bottom of this page there are instructions for setting up RDP on a XP Pro machine. You can also download the client software to control XP Pro machines from any Windows version rather than just other XP machines. More RDP links here.
Guest Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 www.realvnc.com Too slow. I use it on non-Windows XP machines but RDP is better. LogMeIn works better for me, more like the way MS RDP does.
