Guest bomber
Hi all this is my first post and i really hope some one out there can help. I was recently stripping walls for a customer as i am a now a painter decorator (former abel alarms employee!) and managed to knacker the remotekeypad for a scantronic 9200 with the steamer. The customer is refusing to pay till i sort it out with a replacement keypad which is a problem as i have been told by scantronic that they are obselete. if any one out there can help me out i would be really greatfull as i have been on this job for 2 weeks and really need to get it sorted and get paid!!! Thanks in advance. Brett Cooper

ian.cant
I would have thought drying it out would be a good start, theyre built like tanks and can withstand all sorts of abuse.

Gopher
Yeah those Scanny Keypads are rock Solid, just take it apart and dry it out, should be fine.. ya might have blown the keypad fuse but then again those panels got all sorts of protection against that sort of stuff. Agreed. Aslong as power is removed and the unit is thouroughly dried out, there's no reason why it won't work. Trade Member

black knight
sounds like you have a dead parrot there. suggest you bow to the ineviatable and claim on your insurance for a new scantronic 9448+ for the client. not allowed to give prices on here but if you have contacts in the trade you will find they are very reasonable (albeit remote keys are more expensive then panel sometimes...!!) At least that way you will get paid and your client will see what a responsible decorator you are. next time i bet you will cover keypad in plastic and be very careful around electronic eqipment. paul THE BLACK KNIGHT "Any comments / opinions posted are my opinion only and do not represent those of my employer or Company."
