breff
A masterblaster will definately be noticeable, but you may see a few old timers looking for an air raid shelter The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Guest mikeyv1
Ive just found a device called the inferno, from Klaxon it makes a sound unbearable to a human being and is hard to find, does anyone have any experience with these devices and are they any good? Guest
The Inferno is more for internal use. I know you want to build a noticable system but buying a DIY panel and shoving some really loud bits on doesn't make it more noticeable if it ends up going off every couple of days for no reason. If you want an alarm that is of some use you want to look more at a system with some sort of communication capabilities.
antinode
For a long time now, bells only alarms never really attract any attention, so if you want a system that is actually worth installing, you should look at installing at least a dialer with it and perhaps a decent internal sounder to make it more difficult for the intruder to stay inside the property. Bells only systems never really attract any attention anymore, so even fitting a Master Blaster would be of little use. The trouble with this is what are you going to do if your system false alarms while your at work? I don't think your boss would appreciate you nipping out everytime it goes off! Also, as an added note to everyone else, I have been reliably informed that the Master Blaster should be limited to 10 minutes of continuous operation due to the heat they can generate! I would'nt like the thought of my grandparents attending a property where there was potentially a burglary in progress. It can only get a police response if there is actual evidence of a burglary in progress. Wether that is from a neighbour seeing someone climbing through a window, or someone answering a call from a dialer that sees someone inside that should'nt be in there. You can't simply phone the police when you get a message from the alarm, as it could be false. Trade Member

Isn't that for the older ones? The new ones have a longer runtime rating IIRC.
Guest mikeyv1
Does having a voice dialler have any plus points, on a small budget which is the best way to get a police response, as i too dont wish for my grandparents to attend the burgulary and risk injury but would like the police to turn up and hopefully catch the criminal plus keep the house safe whilst a keyholder is gathered,p.s do you know how old a keyholder must be for the police to contact them and use them to silence an alarm? Guest
Does having a voice dialler have any plus points, You know your house has been broken into before you leave the office. on a small budget which is the best way to get a police response, as i too dont wish for my grandparents to attend the burgulary and risk injury but would like the police to turn up and hopefully catch the criminal plus keep the house safe whilst a keyholder is gathered, When you say small budget, what are we looking at here? For a start, you will need a professionally fitted system as you can't get police response from DIY installed and maintained alarms. Secondly, you will need to appoint a company to do the maintaining whilst you are under contract for police response.
