Wiring Texecom Panel To Pyronix Belle?

Some time ago some of you recommended that i dump my A1 panel and I've replaced it with a Texecom Verita 8 Compact.

The system is set up and works fine with the internal alarm but as soon as I wire the Pyronix bell box to the panel it sounds the internal alarm. When i remove the factory fitted link from terminals D & C in the panel the internal alarm sounds and the 24 hour LED comes on and the alarm will not stop until i enter the user code but as soon as I try to reset it sounds again. The fault may be caused by either one of the things below (or something totally different!) :hmm: :

(a) Looking in the pyronix booklet it states that "the connector must be in the - Neg postion for negative applied configurations". This relates to the "Input trigger select connector" switch on the circuit board in the bellbox. i am unable to find anything in the Texecom guide that indicates as to which setting this should be on.

( b ) Wrong connections?

Both guides give various options. i have wired the panel as dictated by the Pyronix guide but to no avail. The texecom booklet does not give instructions for Pyronix sounders.

I have wired thus -

(Pyronix listed first > Texecom listed second)

B- negative > D permanent negative

B+ positive > A permanent poitive

BA Bell trigger > B Switched negative to activate sounder

STB Strobe trigger > S Switched negative to activate strobe

BT Tamper return > C negative tamper supply

TF Tamper feed > D permanent negative

Pyronix states that "all pyronix panels use negative tamper return."

I am now so close to completing the changeover and it is frustraing not to get the alarm working correctly. :(

Thank you for any help that you may be able to give.

Dave

Hi Dave,

accept that I am a DIYer, and I am sure a professional will give you some advice, but I can't see a problem with the wiring. Have you tried checking the resistance between the BT and TF terminals at the panel end? Just to make sure that the switch is closed.

You have to link B- and TF in the bell box... which on further reading you appear to have done? Have you seated the bell tamper switch correctly? Do you hear it click when you put the lid on? Are you getting 0v back on the tamper return wire at the panel (the one connected to C)? Whats the resistance between D and C from the bell? It does sound like a problem with the bell tamper, but you should meter the other tamper circuits just to eliminate them. Only other advice I can give is re-check everything as per the manuals! Also, you don't need to change any jumper links for connection to a Texecom panel.
