Alexg Posted June 2, 2006 Author Posted June 2, 2006 and this is to be operated by an alarm user with no technical experience and perhaps 18 months after the unit is installed and the instructions issued..... I don't think so.. Agreed, but this is what they have asked for, she wouldn't be asking for it if she didn't think it was what she wanted.....guys I agree now though, it's not the best of ideas...but can we focus on putting it into practice? we've gone over what we think about it now.. (Side note) How do I go about applying for trade membership? do I need to qualify? =)
breff Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 If they are really concerned about disturbing their neighbours, why not set the bell time to a shorter time, perhaps 5 minutes? The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
arfur mo Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Yes...but if your a long way away and its the middle of the night, being able to cancel it would be a good idea...like I said, if the alarm stops sounding they may think someone has come home and bail. no its not a 'good idea'. with all respects due and not taking a swipe at you ability in any way so follow the logic -: if the kit is decent if the kit is installed properly, if the kit is seviced properly if the kit is then operated properly by the well trained client it should only activate when needed. to assist set the bell timer to 10 minutes and auto reset, if the signal for voice dialer is taken from the bell output (not the digi output as this will only signal once) it will signal if it reactivates. they should have local keyholders who can attend and decide wither or not to re-arm the system play that against the risk of 'oh dear its only a false alarm again' and then them comming home to a cleared house?- no contest is it. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
