Bell box and Sky dish

Just updated a Galaxy system, client had done building work so bell box needed to be moved. Best new location for bellbox was high on gable end but very close (about a foot) from a Sky satellite dish.

He is now complaining of interference on Sky TV and (along with his satellite installer) blaiming the alarm installation. I can't see it although to be fair the alarm cable isn't screened, also when I did a test activate of the alarm the "interference" didn't change.

If push comes to shove I'll get my ladders out and move it although anywhere else on the house would be a bit low. Has anyone else come across issues/interference when a bellbox and satellite dish are close together ?

Thanks

Thats a new one..!!!!!

Why do Alarm engineers get blamed for everything..?

Sounds like a load of complete nonsense to me, by all means move the bellbox just to prove it isnt that which is causing the fault, tell him if the fault is cured by you moving the bellbox then he wont get billed, but if the fault is still there then your gonna bill him for wasting your time.

Its more than likely just a badly cited sky dish.

i have had the same thing customer complaining that the bell was interferring with his satellite tv.i tried to explain to him that i couldnt be the alarm but he wouldnt have it so i moved the bell and guess wot a week later i was called back out there to put the bell back in the original position. the problem was the satellite dish wasnt alligned properly. but like dave said we always get the blame for everything that goes wrong inside the house or outside it. but im 100% sure if you move the bell it wont cure the satellite tv problem
