Hi

I wonder if anyone could help with the following. I have installed the Pyronix Sterling 10 panel that came packaged with the Matrix LCD Keypad.

The wiring diagram shows a K+, KD, K-, KT and KTR contacts. However it only has the first three. How should this connect to the Panel which has all the contacts excluding KTR.

Many Thanks in advance

You mean you don't know.

KT KTR are the keypad tamper circuit and should be connected in series with the other tamper circuits back at the panel. Don't just leave them out of circuit.

you mean that you can't read.

It says that it only has the first 3 connections.

I guessed that KT and KTR are Keypad Tamper Keypad Tamper Return.

However, I am not an expert in Security systems (missed the 2 day course) but an "expert" in the communication and electrical sector.

Let me start again................

The "pretty" pictures showed that the Keypad had five connections when it only had three. The keypad is a "matrix" one although it came boxed within the sterling 10 panel. I suspected that it may have been the wrong keypad. Hence the reason why I was asking the experts here for some advice.

I tried linking the KTR in the panel to K- with no success. The panel bleeps every 3 seconds or so and only allows 6 key depresses before it locks out.

There must be someone out there who can answer this one. I have tried linking out all other tamper circuits in the panel (including PA).

Thanks again

I'm sure there are a few.

Hi all. :D

New to the site.

The matrix RKP will not work with the stirling 10. It can be confusing as the new RKPs are of the same design.

The matrix keypad uses data signaling for tamp etc, hence only 3 terminals.

Take the keypad back and change it for the ICON RKP - much better and engineer / user friendly.

Hope this helps. ;)

As a fellow sparky/comms type person, you are as mislead as I was when I entered the alarm/cctv industry.

It's a damn sight more technical than you think, so if you can't sort a Sterling 10 then a bit of humble pie is required.

The older I get, the faster I was.
