Guest rjbsec Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Okay so England won and are through to the quarter-finals ..... but was it another case of "by the skin on their teeth"?
Service Engineer Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Yet another poor effort. Very disheartening to watch. I didn't even bother opening a can. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)

Guest G.J.M Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Not very good to watch.Beckham's free kick was brilliant good but John Terry and Lampard were poor. If Beckham had not of scored i could have seen it going to penalties
ian.cant Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I dont care if we play cack all the way to the final and win it!
Guest rjbsec Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 I dont care if we play cack all the way to the final and win it! I can't help feeling that there are much better playing teams in the competition that make that scenario unlikely.
Guest rjbsec Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Portugal Netherlands 2 sent off, {13} Edit 14, no wait 15 as I type, cards shown and several "fights"after 75 minutes! Apparantly the record for one match is 16 cards shown. Now 16 as another red card is show losing count of how many players on the field! Now 4 men sent off - 9 play 9! Final scores: Goals 1 - 0 to Portugal Yellow cards 16 Red cards 4
esp-protocol Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 Beckham... our greatest free kick taker.... first goal in three years.... hmmm prolific. Before he scored he'd done bugger all. Apart from that one kick we hardly had a decent clean shot on target. I thought Gerrard and Lamps were poor in terms of making and taking chances. Perhaps too much is expected, but when we're told we've got (allegedly) the greatest free kick taker, the two greatest midfield players, and the greatest front man and a rock solid defence, I hope to see something a lot better than that spectacle. All the "lesser" names seemed to have good games, but our star players (excepting lone star Rooney) just don't seem to click.....
