Guest Jerr-y Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Is there any one out there having trouble with the new G2/3 Galaxy panels connected to RedCare having trouble dailing into them?????????????????????????/
breff Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 What baud are you using, I know with texecom you are meant to connect at 300 baud with redcare. Something to do with redcare not liking modems. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Monteey Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 No other way round, your sposed to connect at 2400 with redcare, it runs at 300 baud Mark Hawks Ex BT Openreach Field Service Now Self employed telecom and data engineer www.mphtelecom.co.uk Also back doing sub contract work in the security industry. Guest rjbsec Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I had no problems with a G2 with Redcare but since upgrading to the new RSS and AccessLite I cannot connect to any panels - the upgraded software is useless! I've requested help from Honeywell but they must have the worst responding product support in the UK
Nova-Security Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I had no problems with a G2 with Redcare but since upgrading to the new RSS and AccessLite I cannot connect to any panels - the upgraded software is useless!I've requested help from Honeywell but they must have the worst responding product support in the UK You to, and tech support say iam the first. Alarm Protection Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Who are you changing to Nova? Im trying the Gardtec software just now then Texecom to see what is best. Honeywell tech support etc is not up to scratch. Even the bloody local rep is not answering his mobile! !
Guest Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I just took two G3`s out of boxes and they didnt want to play. But back up was superb, they sent me one from scotland next day so it wasnt the same batch as from suppliers. And our rep is always in touch in london. Still awaiting the bench test from tech though.
Guest Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Better give you an idea of what i was playing with. 5 floors 3 floors 2 x rkp 2 floors 1 x rkp 8 in total Sounders on each floor, all on seperate outputs but run with bells. 5 in total 1 x smart rio 4-5 pir`s on each floor with 2 x surface contacts All with key prox, to work with existing access control ( make sure you get the 28 bit HID tags ) aggggggggg that caused a few headaches. Various groups ect, kepads assigned to floors but all users to access any group, manager to have access via anykeypad and remote access via ethernet. Redcare to be hooked up this week ( if i get time to do it, its mad here) 1st and 2nd panels crashed when i caused a alarm condition, 3rd works fine. No change in config ( i`ll assume you al know the short cuts, if not i`m on the wrong site ) Now debating to add extra PSU for sounders, CQR babies.
Guest rjbsec Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Still awaiting the bench test from tech though. Don't hold your breath - I'm still awaiting reports for faulty wireless kit, RF RIO's and G2 panels going back months. Nobody cares - if you are lucky they'll throw some equipment at you but the problem with their support is, what's the buzz-word ... institutionalised!
Guest rjbsec Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Do you want Texecoms phone number yet Roger? No thanks Paul, I'm looking at Menvier again now the initial problems appear to be resolved - prior to October 2005 I used Menvier almost exclusively. I'm putting in a Grade 3 at the begining of next week and will use the M800, it seems very suitable and the support is a stark contrast to what I have experienced with Honeywell - I had an email at 2200 last night from the local rep responding to a query I had raised earlier.
