colin32 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Do the prox key fobs for Texacom premier panels use rolling codes? I ask because when I assign a tag on one panel and then assign the same tag on another panel, the first panel no longer accepts the tag and has to be re-assigned to the first panel which then causes the second panel to lose the tag id and so on.
Monteey Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Yup you cant use one fob on more than one panel as the fob is given an id by the panel when you assign it Mark Hawks Ex BT Openreach Field Service Now Self employed telecom and data engineer www.mphtelecom.co.uk Also back doing sub contract work in the security industry. JB_ Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 There are ways around this using Wintex aren't there? Downloading the 'Users' page from one panel and sending it to the 2nd? Obviously you'd need to have engineer access to both panels, a Laptop with Wintex installed and typically a Pc-Com lead. If your an end user then I'd advise to speak to your installer. If your an installer then speak to Texcom for a clearer description of exactly what to do. If this has changed and doesn't work anymore then feel free to say so too.
Guest Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Change to Galaxy , then you can have one prox tag working several sites and access control. Even utliise the max readers. Just an idea.

Thanks I'm not aware of any way of transferring just the 'user' page from panel to panel but will have a look at Wintex and see what Texacom have to say. One prox tag for several sites and access control is exactly what we want but it must be texacom premier.

Connect to the first panel with Wintex, choose the 'Users' page from the selection on left bar, select 'Recieve --> Current page' from bar at top. Disconnect from 1st panel and plug laptop onto 2nd panel, again connect to panel and choose 'Users' from left bar, this time choose 'Send --> Current page' from bar at top.

I'm pretty sure that you would have to close account 1 before opening and connecting to account 2 as they would have different account ref numbers and serial numbers.
ranger Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Am i the only one who hates people calling it 'texacom'... its TEXECOM!! Sorry, Ranger The above is my personal opinion and not that of my employer or anyone else.
JB_ Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 Far as I'm aware only three things need to be correct for Wintex to connect to a panel, all of which can be edited easily. 1) Panel type 2) Panel software version 3) Panel UDL password. Sheesh I'm trying to help you here, throw me a bone. There was also a fix from the panel itself if I remember rightly, can't remember that one much but I think it involved pressing a key at some stage while setting up user or prox tag. Maybe OMIT key.

You're probably correct, and many thanks for your help.
