  1. 1. Should we relax our views on the information we give out on publically purchasable alarm control panels.

Seen the aftermath three times in last 5 years, most recently 6 weeks ago battery failed and due to the panel trying too hard to charge the battery that was knackered. Customer had been having the system religously serviced every year since they moved in ( 12 years) by there alarm company problem was that two cups of tea and dust every visit didn't ensure that the battery was okay.

now that can be a problem with poorly designed psu in the panel or a 5/8" x 4 screw in the fuse holder, and a 13 amp fuse in the spur (we will leave if it was double pole or not -agreed?)

so lucky i fit an inline fuse just in case, must have saved such damage many times or i bet it would have done if i did not chuck the battery after 2 years as a policy.

but then you would know this, as thats what a real quality engineer (with very high standards) would do without batting an eyelid.

This is the best then, in London. About 18 yrs ago when i was still doing locksmithing i was called to assist a sectioning of a frail (my bottom) old man. after i had opened the door he was taken away. As i came down the lift with severalpolice officers i joked if i had a parking ticket i would have to be arrested. As it happened i was towed away.................I was parked by the kerb with 4 poilce cars in front of me and 3 behind. Fully sign written van and was well known around that area as a contracting locksmith to the local authourity, police and baliffs.

At the tow depot i was nearly arrested as i went straight to my van to get proof of identity which they insist on and was told i had broken the law by not paying the fine 1st. They wonder why they sit behind 6mm toughend glass..........................

cheers

hi old hand,

as we are now off piest (i don't ski so spelling might be off also) there is a carpark, which has a sign "175.00 entry fee" - ignore it at your peril.

the police attended to collar two villians and take them away - and got fined :cold2:

there have been numerous complaints from the public, people being fined for the simple mistake, having no option but to continue into the car park, and the waiting camera to snare them after a wrong turn.

this carpark is off a busy round-a-bout and you can't dither, so many enter the car park slip by mistake, forced in by an idiot or thinking they are taking the bypass. a VNR camera records time of entry, you have 9 minutes to buy a ticket or you get an automatic fine - now if this not blatent misuse of Swansea's number plate information, i do not what is.

the car park company claim the fines are legit, as people try to park for free, so its them who get fined, those who buy a tcket have no problem. and that seems to include the local police force using a marked police car in the execution of their duty.

roll on when they regulate these 'parking control companies'.

.....make it available through your office.

:hmm: so would you wait on site say from friday night until monday 9:15 am for 'mandy' (late again boyfreind trouble) to open up, make the tea, polish her nails, have a pee, a fag and then check the answerphone? she then has to find a collegue with the keys for the filing cabinet, or has a log in password and is registered under the data protection act to search those files all within a secure area? - now not what i call 'available' for most companies who perhaps do not have their own dedicated central station.

what ever would you do while you wait - or is that how you find so much time to be in here?

:P

just joking with you, the only way is to fit a cheap docs cab off ebay with a code lock to be sure, and this is what i'd do on the larger shopping centre installs.

Apparently Arf arf does.

I did notice as im sure others did but its hard to keep up with his errors let alone his posts.

He also never puts panels in lofts but he says he always contacts the loft hatch to protect the panel.

He also says he uses confirmed detection/signals yet he isnt approved by either inspectorate to connect for police response.

I cannont be bothered to trawl the whole thread for more but rest assured they will be there somewhere........

seems i can prove you can not be bothered even to read and understand any post properly, let alone comprehend a simple post's meaning, something you readilly admit is an unsurpassable ability ans/or talent both you, alarmgard and and rjbsec share.

but as a kind and loving all type of person i am (me being a true king and all), i decided to save you and your crony's a little 'trawling'. now i think you must be sharing those rose coloured spectacles between you - i suggest specsavers asap! or the NHS ones with matching pink wire frames.

what i actually typed

a pro system - well one installed by me anyway - would be hard to get to the panel at any speed without a confirmed signal being sent - i ask do you put a contact on the door or loft trap where the main panel is to give a confirmed signal? so hows YOUR standards looking now then? hmm.gif glass houses and stones or what!

now you seem to think i do put panels in the loft, now where exactly did i say i meaning me put panels in lofts in the above paragraph?. type slow and pity me because i'm old and ramble a lot.

you three protaganists who beleive you are fom the upper eschulance of the brains trust dane to accused of reading posts in the way i want to, and altering to a version according to my tunnel vision, and refusing to answer you as if i'm scared to on standards- and if you lot could even read them properly without inflecting you total misunderstanding of them

give me stregnth someone!

I sympathise with you - your company should assist you more.

Sorry I shouldn't have made that comment sound negative - my company do in fact look after me very well and I know my boss - however remote he may be would bend over backwards to help me out..

The main problem I have is install not doing any paperwork or at least not leaving it on site anyway. It is something I am going to bring up with HO..

seems i can prove you can not be bothered even to read

I can do better than that and be glad to admit, where your concerned theres no point in reading the drivel you post.

You make it up as you go along, take up the points you want to and the points you cant answer you ignore.

On a more caring note, you should book yourself in to see a doctor as youve already answered the points i raised (which you have quoted) and you clearly dont remember. Its usually always best to get a proffessional in but i think he will diagnose this.

ian, if i 'make it up' it should be easy to expose me as a lier by placing accurate replies. your lack of ability in this area and beleiving what you want to instead of reading what i wrote is amazing - see no reply, pehaps an appology or even an acknowledgement of your mistake from you then.

and you say mine many!

this should surprise me, but with you it has'nt. you got utterly 'beasted' a little time ago over your own particular inaccuracys in 'blasting' me claiming i had chimed in on a post, and i reprinted yours which were placed way before mine, and you suggest i have alzhiemic tendancys.

by the way, if you followed your link, did you then read it properly? further assistance later on in this subject - care of the 'kings' free mental health department.

so i make countless mistakes do i? so if you spot them be specific for all to see your superior skills, meanwhile i know your memory has little if any retention ability so lets remind you.

you have dropped some amazing 'clangers' in this forum, just a little sample of your wisdom always 'helpful, accurate and informative' (i'd say darned entertaining as i had a ruddy good laugh at this one)

so i make it up as i go along do i? lets look at your explanation of the difference's between CAT5 & CAT5e?

you explained CAT5 was 'normal' cable and CAT5E was for direct burial :rolleyes::no: but then to know what the 'e' really meant (and it's not earth) you would need to have read up on its 'STANDARDS' and compare both cable type' properties or asked somebody who actually new just like the poster was doing (but unfortunately got you) - and not just guess at it like you did.

now it don't say much for your application to any ability for being taken seriously when making critasism's of anyone let alone me, or for that matter any authority in offering medical advice let alone technical imo.

anyone care to name a village short of its idiot? - as ian's a bit lost?

try this http://www.dorecentres.co.uk/default.aspx?...amp;kw=dyslexia

it offers free help - get some and fill your boots! afterwards you can use your new skills to read the signposts and get home.
