Guest mc8 Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 My builder cut the cable to my 1994 Optima XM just below the bell box when working on an extension. He has provided new cable and (hopefully) the bell box is rewired as per the previous configuration-but he chickened out connecting it to the sytem, and so did the sparks on the job as they didn't have a system guide. Is there anywhere I can get a wiring guide to this old system? If not, is anyone likely to be able to take it on(and likely cost??)
Guest dale Posted January 19, 2004 Posted January 19, 2004 Im suprised at sparkies not having a go, they normally do and then muck it up! The best solution is to get a local alarm company to come and give it a good service - that way you will know its working ok, and they will probably connect it for you. If the cable is at the side of the panel (dangling ready to be connected) then they would probably not charge you a great deal (assuming the sparky has wired it up right. Possible cost for service and re-installing bell box cable - £40 - £80 depending on how haard a job it is.
