Alarm Fault

Hi All,

Firstly I know nothing about alarms, thought I'd try on here before I book a service call.

I've got a Networker TS690 which in the last couple of days will not arm because of an "LF" Line Fault error, as far as I was aware it's not even connected to the phone line ! In fact I've changed phone lines twice since I've had it with no problems (not lately). Has anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is ?

Many thanks for any help you can give.

Post your location and someone will offer assistance.

Hi MickT,

i am suspiscious thats for 'mick take' but if not then sorry :(

could be remote access was set up by the installer (even if you are not on central station). i know some do this and if the line go's you then call him with the fault you have, the installer knows he can't get in to adjust settings or perform diagnostics remotely.

this in any not 'dirty tricks', just felt to be prudent by some companie's, and can save the homeonwner money, as you could be told to shut the rear bedroom window or check the power is on, rather than have an engineer attend and charge you for the pleasure.

i am in Wickford, not a 'native' Tunstal instaler although i have worked on them, i'm happy to attend if no one else can to help you.

Thanks Alan,

No, not a Mick Take, completely genuine :)

Old Hand,

8 zones I think, CS ? If you mean a remote control centre then no.

Problem solved :)

A big thank you to Defence Security of South Ockenden who installed the original system. They explained how to disable the comms board and now I can use the alarm. Possibly the comms board developed a fault or the line was still connected somewhere but was disconnected at the exchange.

Thanks for all the advice and offers of help.
