Hi all,

I've been looking all over for a good source of info, and this looks to be it!

I want to buy a hard wired kit that would coover a 3 bed house and dials phones.

Anyone recommend anything, or indeed, any to avoid?

Many thanks

Depends on your budget really. Stay away from the cheap stuff and you won't go far wrong. I'm guessing from the description of your house you would need:

4 PIR detectors (Lounge, Dining Room, Kitchen and Landing), 2 contacts (Front and Back doors) and possibly 1 panic button. An 8 zone panel will cover this, leaving a spare zone for a Hallway PIR or future Conservatory etc if you need it.

A Veritas R8+ control panel will do for a basic system, although if you'd like an LCD keypad, the Veritas Excel is the one to get (the Excel works out cheaper than buying an R8+ and an LCD keypad seperatley)

An Oddyssey bellbox, a Texecom or Menvier SD2 Speech and Text dialer and some cable will cover the rest. You're looking at around

It's probably always worth getting a few quotes from your local installers aswell.
Good advice.
