Guys

A liitle advice needed If possible

Just finished a big job Using Samsung SHC-721 cameras and a Dowshu 3000 series DVR (32 Channels) , with a 19 inch CRT Monitor

all the cameras were focused using a different monitor a Hi Res 800 TVL CCTV Monitor..

The problem im Having is that i cannot get the Image Quality from the CRT Monitor that i think is acceptable compared to CCTV BNc Monitor i focused the cameras on

The Monitor with the system is a Samsung 19" Monitor SM997MB/19" CRT .20 with a Resolution of 1920x1440 as the Dowshu unit only Take Pc Monitors.

Im thinking of changing to a smaller monitor unless any of you guys can come up with anything else i could try, i have looked for very high resolution crt Monitors, but i cannot find anything higher than i already have

Thanks in advance

Thts not the monitor mate. Bear in mind a PAL monitor is to the 625 line standard and is interlaced, resolution approx 800 x 600. This is shown at full screen showing a pal signal on a device designed to show pal tv signals. This is then connected to a recorder and compressed converted to digital and stored etc. It is then displayed on a non interlaced monitor with your huge resolution. Also even though some manufactures imply they record at 720x576 they dont actually record this as converting to digital a full frame shot gives interlace 'combing' as the odds are slightly ahead of the evens. This cannot be changed so they tend to record only the odds or evens. This is why most records actually record at a max vertical res of 288 lines. Using progressive scan cameras gets around this.

Basically it will be irrelevant if you change the monitor but a smaller monitor will make this less apparent
