Has anyone else had any problems with the new Galaxy G3 int telecom mod not sending restores. i have had 2 guys trying to set up SIA signalling one with SSS (how we love them!) they complained that they were not getting AC fail restores but not sure if they were getting any restores at all. as the other guy was using our CS (IES) and it was not sending any restores at all open/close was the only thing working correctly. so he had to revert back to DTMF and that was fine any one got any ideas or had similar problems going to try and test bed it tonight but any info or ideas would be helpfull thanks.

I assume he is rereffing to using a digi and a national rate number using sia 3. As it will kick off at the slightest thing and cost the client money. I would also assume there is a good reason why they are using sia as the only time i have used it is when the client has requested and is prepared to pay for it. You can send sia down ip and redcare serial but I have only used ip and dig. As sia costs more generally i would assume the clien requested it or it was in the building spec

i don't understand what you are saying.

does arc's have premium rate numbers for sia alarm receivers?

You can send sia down ip ...

with what gear? and what is the receiver at the arc then?

Sia monitoring here in the uk costs more at the arc than dtmp digi signaling

do you mean Contact ID as a DTMF format?

And you can send sia 1-4 over ip with the world beating galaxy, im sure others can to i beleive the new castle stuff does too

yes and with DSC as well but it requires Sur-Gard IP receiver made especially for DSC TLINK. What is the receiver you use with gal?

sorry george i have no idea what reciever its on but i can find out if its important.

i can survive without such info but am quite curious..

No i dont ean contact ID. YOu know the old dtmf 1-16 channel way. Basic is best! lol

eg. silent knight 4+1 (or 3+1, 3+2, 4+2, etc) 20bps ?!?

it may have other names but i dont know them.

i bet it has at least dozen names but main idea is that panel has three or four digit ID and when reporting it sends its ID and channel number. ie. ID number 10E7 sends channel 1 (fire?) -->

1 beep - 10 beeps - 14 beeps - 7 beeps - 1 beep (short pause - approx 1 sec) 1 beep - 10 beeps - 14 beeps - 7 beeps - 1 beep

beeps are sent at the speed of 10, 20 or 40bps depending of the set value.

so 4+3 would mean four digit ID and three digit reporting code(channel) etc..

10 and 20bps reporting you are able to listen and write down but i haven't tried 40bps (i guess it is too fast to listen and count pulses..)

(is it George or Georgahti?)

yes it is.

Georg is my first name and Ahti is my surname - but feel free to call me George..
