Guest logical001 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Hi, I'm just in the process of wiring up the Menvier SD2 speach dialler to an M-series panel. I just realised it doesn't use the same number of Network connections as a normal keypad. Instead it has ABCD rather than the normal ABCDE of a Networker keypad. Does this simply mean the power has to be connected seperatly and then ABCD is connected to the normal networker slot? I assume the speach dialler can be used as a normal Networker keypad, or am I wrong and its really a standalone unit? Best Jonathan
Guest Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 It's not a networker keypad - you don't wire it to the network connections at all. I can't go into specifics with this being in the public forums, If you are trade then apply for trade status HERE The Sd2 is standalone.

Agree to the above, stop now or blow up your panel.
Guest logical001 Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Agree to the above, stop now or blow up your panel. Many thanks for the comments. I never wired it up. I always air on the side of caution rather than resort to 'trial and error' and as you correctly say, probably blow-up the panel. I assumed it would function as a full LCD keypad on a Menvier system, but as can be seen from the manual it is a more 'generic' product. Still, no problem and thanks for your input. Best Jonathan
Nova-Security Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Agree to the above, stop now or blow up your panel.
