golfball Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 You will find that most of these cable tracers will only work if the cable being tested is open circuit, if its closed circuit you get no tone. With the one i got from maps it finds the cable in a bunch of them also when its shorted the beep stops if you hook it onto the cable and get no beep just flick it to continuity and a light shows if you dont get light and beeping stops busted cable just trace back untill beeping starts all for thirty quid Life is like a box of choclates.....if you dont get there first your left with all the naff ones
