Accenta 8 Problem

Hi - Accidently pressed panic button and accenta 8- alarm went off!. Tried entering user code left by previous owner. It failed. Tried 0123 code it failed tried xxxxcode it failed.

Switched off mains supply removed control panel cover band unplugged battery.............Peace and Quite.

Had a cup of tea and tried 1st power on procedure.

1) Connect batt- interupted internal sounder heard.

2) Replaced control cover.

3) Went to remote keypad and noticed no "tamper" light. Still entered 0123 code. Alarm still set......

4) Took of control cover and unplugged battery.

What am I doing wrong?

Why is tamper light not lighting up?

the tamper light will come on if the panel detects that a tamper circuit is open. if you have put the panel front back on, then that closes that particular tamper circuit, your panel may well be telling you that all tamper circuits are closed. is the alarm working okay or do you have other problems. is the panic button still pressed in.

Have you reset the panic button?

The external bell should be sounding right now also, sounds like the system hasnt been serviced for a while.

Hi Pete. Yes this was the first thing I did. Have since checked read relay contacts functioning as they should be in panic button. Yes External sounder is working fine. Just cannot turn default the control box.

Yes needs a service, but have done a recent walk test using chime function. Every thing was working fine until setting off the panic alarm.

I guess the problem I have is that I cannot unset the alarm off using 0123 code P XXXx and get into the engineer mode.

Is the alternative default method of going back to factory setting the same as that for the accenta g3? NO DEFAULTING INFORMATION IN THE PUBLIC FORUMS PLEASE!!!ill this reset the NVM.

If the panel has no battery, or mains, connected the sounder should be sounding right now.

Try connecting just mains and see if the rkp works, my guess is the battery is u/s the external sounder battery is definately u/s.

You may also find that the charging circuit is u/s check the back of the pcb for signs of burning

Checked the battery its fine. I've checked the charging circuit under load and without. Readings are not to far adrift.

Problem persists with or without battery connected.

Nothing burnt on board
